Battery gone dead???crxvti 05-27-2004, 11:45 PM I got my starter motor repaced today since it wasn't making contact with the flywheel to start the engine most of the time, then i drove 90miles to get home, went to shop, car starts fine, then stop by a friend for 20mins, car started fine, then went home, an hour after went out car started fine, parked the car went to pub, come back 2 hours after, alarm no response, my car has no door handles they works off electric, but no power to it! opened the door with a cloths hanger! Put key in, turn it to start, nothing, happens, no light all all on the dash, took the battery out, while I was taking it out i can feel that the battery is warm, put in different battery, started no problem, have anyone got any idea what this is about? would it be just a bad battery or something else?? i know it is not the original battery in it coz its smaller than the holder! :screwy: 323imankiks 05-28-2004, 11:57 AM perhaps when starter was installed its was not grounded properly and is drawing current from battery or a short someplace. How old is the battery you took out? batterys should last 4 or more years on average. No door handles :eek7: i take it was modified. :2cents: crxvti 05-28-2004, 02:28 PM yea the car was modified alot! i dunno how old that battery is but, it cannot be charge anymore! but I left a battery in it last nite, one I have in the rover 620i, and it works fine still today, got a new battery than, 510 A, but the other battery went dead in 2 hours since I last use the car! don't understand! Sounds like you have a problem with a relay tripping itself consistantly, or some sort of light usually an interior one like the ash tray, hood, or trunk light. What year, Make and Model car do you have? Jared crxvti 06-12-2004, 09:41 AM its ok now, found the problem, it was the wire from the alternator it came off so the battery wasn't getting charged! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
