Civic gurus, do your best...Raz_Kaz 05-25-2004, 11:11 PM Ok guys heres the question... my friend has a 94 si with a j spec d15b engine in it... now as far i as i know MOSTLY all D series parts are interchangeable right?? cuz he has a D16Y8 cyinlder head that he wants to put on it.. will it just bolt right up? will all the cooling passages and stuff all line up properly?? jameskersten 05-25-2004, 11:18 PM they will all fit that way but why? its a obd2 head, so the effort to swap over to obd1 wouldnt be worth it in my opinion. there isnt gonna be any realy gains except a little higher compression. the head is has now is vtec so that isnt the issue. GScivic7 05-25-2004, 11:56 PM Why didn't he just keep the D16Z6 in that car in the first place then? Raz_Kaz 05-26-2004, 08:39 PM But he shouldnt have to switch over to the obd2, just the cylinder.....right? xAUTOxRACERx 05-26-2004, 08:50 PM Nope all he will basically be doing is keep his old wiring onto the new cylinder heaf. But let me ask you this why is he swapping it for? Was his old one damaged somehow? emerge 05-26-2004, 11:31 PM save your money and buy a better motor (i.e. b-series).... squicken 05-27-2004, 09:21 PM Quick stupid question for you guys, how do you figure out the engine type??
