I have the Evo and am very happy with it. The Blitz will be louder than the Evo due to its shape. It will probably sound like the Greddy MX series.

Also, I noticed the Blitz piping doesnt have any coating on it. It'll probably get rusty and gross looking in a short time.

For those of you fellas with the Greddy Evo Exhaust, How loud is this exhaust system, On a scale of 1 - 10 (10 being super loud and 1 a little louder than stock)

I really need to replace my stock muffler, it's making rattling sounds when I drive and it sounds really nasty, something is probably loose. Anyway I think its time to do some more upgrades on the old G anyway.

I would rate it a 3

I think the problem is the fitment... ;)

The system was designed for a JDM P11 which has different length cat. The system probably does not fit properly on our P11's without modifications. If you look at their site it says something like TBA G20 HP11 1998-2001 which looks like the JDM year range. Even our 99's are different than the 2000+ because of the cat and they're not compatible. Looks like Blitz NA hasnt done any research and should work with the fine folks @ G20.net ;)

BTW this is the same reason 5Zigen doesnt sell their fireball catbacks here, they dont bolt right up to ours. Personally I think you will be waiting a LONG time.

Take matters into your own hands!!

Buy and exhaust you like, get a good resonator and go to a good muffler shop and have them make you a mandrel bent exhaust with 2.25" piping.

This should be cake for you! You live in CA and probably have TONS of places that can do this for you. You'll probably pay around the same amount. You could probably even find a place locally that can coat the piping when its all done.

I'm getting a custom cat-back made of 3" piping for my turbo.. ;)

the only thing Blitz engineers in the US can do is figuring out that you have to wear your pants one leg at a time.....
they released the Nur Spec Racing for the WRX and found out (by the customers) that the JDM down pipe is different than the USDM down pipe. just as Brian pointed out, the JDM exhaust for P11 is a bit different than the USDM P11. The greddy evo is designed FOR the USDM P11 from year 00-02. I had a 99 but require only the smallest modification to make it fit. (the 00+ cat is a bit shorter than the 99, thus you just have to re-flange the cat to the pipe and it's done)
i wouldn't wait for the blitz exhaust to be out soon....UNLESS it's designed for the USDM P11. anyway, as i said earlier, i'll keep you guys posted. the reason why i havent been responding to the status of the Blitz yet is because i havent heard a word yet.

After thinking long and hard, I chose the Greddy Evo. It had to be tweaked a bit to fit my '99, but boy does it look great. It fits flush with my bumper (actually it's tucked in about an inch or so--doesn't stick out whatsoever). And the sound...oh the sound! Good gains too. It cost me ($500+ for the exhaust and another $100 for the custom work), but I'm truly satisfied. With the addition of my JWT Pop, I can now sleep at night...

Im going to be getting one real soon....what type of work was involved with the tweaking??? Luke said its just "reflanging" the cat, did you have to do the same thing, and what is that exactly?

The pipe that bolts to the cat must be shortened a bit. Cut and have the flange welded back on.

The 99's have a longer cat so if you bolted it on as is, it would stick out several inches past your bumper.

It's exactly like b-bOOgie said. They cut roughly 4-6 inches off, welded everything back, and viola....perfect fit! Even better than stock! I'm sure you can get it done way cheaper than $100, but the tuning shop that sold me the EVO said that they were 100% sure it would fit like a glove, and it didn't. But, they mickey moused it to fit, thinking I was an idiot and wouldn't notice. WRONG. So, I wrote the Better Business Bureau, and two weeks later, the $100 I paid for tweaking was reimbursed! If you live in the Seattle area, don't go to PPI!!!!!!!

The MX is for P10's, the Evo info can be found in past engine forum posts, and the Blitz isnt out yet but some info can be found at their site www.blitzna.com.
