1993 Camry SE Overheating Problemkiddbcb 05-24-2004, 10:36 PM Greetings All, My camry is overheating. In October, I had a new radiator and water pump installed. The other day the gauge went into the red. When I popped the hood, I noticed anti freeze being squirted out of the little tube coming from the radiator into the area of the anti freeze resovior. Any idea on what this little tube is called. I know this may sound confusing but its a small tube coming from right under the radiator cap to the resovior and then to another tube in the back of the engine. I think that is probably the problem that maybe the tube is clogged or something. Thanks for any help. Peace and Blessings Erndog1369 05-24-2004, 10:49 PM That 'little hose' is the overflow hose. That hose lets coolant travel back and forth from the radiator to the overflow bottle. When the engine is hot, coolant moves from the radiator to the overflow, and when the engine cools, the coolant moves back from the overflow to the radiator. I highly doubt that you have a problem with the overflow hose. There are so many things that can cause the car to run hot. Check the coolant level. Is it full? If it's low, you may have a leak or an internal problem that is causing the engine to use coolant. If the coolant is full, and you are overheating, you maye have a cooling fan problem, or possible a thermostat problem (stuck closed). It's hard to diagnose your problem from what you have described, but I imagine that you have a leak somewhere, and your coolant is low. Start there. Let us know. kiddbcb 05-26-2004, 11:46 AM Thank you for the information. I took my car to the mechanic this morning so I will let you all know what the problem is. Thanks again. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
