View Full Version : Why do birds like taking a (blank) after we carwash? Why do birds like taking a (blank) after we carwash? Nexagen 05-23-2004, 06:57 PM So I decided to head to the carwash and like any true auto enthusiast, I washed it myself and then later waxed it. Washing took me like 40 mins to get everything clean and ready for the wax. Drying like maybe 30 mins and then the wax took me like another hour. It looked so good I could actually see myself in it. Looked as shiny as a new black porsche carrera. So I park it and the next day I go back only to find that some birds pooped on my car. Dont you just hate that? I washed my car and took 3 hours of my time only to see a bird crap on my shiny car. Why is it that birds like to crap on our cars?! WHY?! They can crap just about anywhere else! But no.... they have to crap on our cars. Is it just in their nature to insult us that way? There should be some kind of anti-bird crap defense that someone should invent so that birds wont poop on our cars. Speaking of which birds can be pretty stupid... I was once driving home in the 710 Freeway going south in the fast lane. When all of a sudden I see a white Dove as white as white can be just come swooping down from the left near the level of my windshield as I travel at 80 MPH. Just like out of the blue it swooped down do my car and hit my windshield and it just got smacked up like hell. It then went over my car. I was like "Holy sheaaat! OMG I cant believe I just saw that happen! Poor bird... must be a stupid bird to just come down and get in my way like that. I hope it's OK although I doubt it..." Are our cars bird magnets or does anyone know why birds like to crap on our cars? sigh.... -Nexagen mjgjr72 05-23-2004, 07:58 PM just to piss you off, the little fucks probably watched you wash and wax and as soon as you went in they started their bombing runs, i bet they where sitting in a tree laughing when you came out and saw it. 4ss4s1n 05-23-2004, 08:20 PM I have no idea why they do it.The same thing happened to me but I left my car under a tree(Foolish Move). Then I left it out in the driveway.Same thing.I guess its just a game to them or something."Hey,Ill bet you I can hit that really shiny car" "Your on". GTmike400 05-23-2004, 11:25 PM Its like asking why does it rain after washing your car? or why does the moon set and rise everyday? My Dad just washed both of my the cars today. He spent probably 6 hours or so, and its supposed to rain all of the sudden tommorrow. bumpinneon 05-24-2004, 12:37 AM i doubt this is true but ive heard that it something about the shine from the car that attracts them to poop on it not sure if its true or not maybe they just like to poop on things that have a good shine? koeb$ 05-25-2004, 02:47 PM if a bird does poop on ur car, wash it off ASAP or it stains ur clear coat, keep ur car waxed and it makes it easier to get it off Zodiac 05-28-2004, 04:32 PM Very similiar things happen to me, except that its not bird poop. My car is also black and it is nice to wash and shine it up and be able to see your own reflection. But it is not nice to wake up and go take a look at your car and find that there are brown cat prints from the hood of your car all the way to the end of your car. :banghead: 4ss4s1n 05-29-2004, 04:53 PM LOL.Those damn cats. alphalanos 05-30-2004, 02:06 AM yeah i get cat paws all on my windshield and hood about every night. and to make it worse you can see where the cat slid down the windshield, claws and all.... yeah keep the car polished, then just spray the crap with some Meguiars Quik Detailer. basically wipes right off. tman 05-30-2004, 03:53 AM The birds think the shiny paint is the ocean. Stupid birds, they should be able to tell between a car and water. MStout 06-04-2004, 02:15 AM Mine got bombarded the last few days...there is one nice splatter on my hood about 4 inches in diameter and nice and chunky white! But then again I did snipe a blackbird off the top of our light pole outside with my .22...so maybe his friends decided to pull a prank on me in memory of him. It was a good clean chest shot too... Markgase2000 06-13-2004, 08:56 PM Yes!!! they watch you clean it then wait for there attack! Clean and shiney = to a bird hell I cant miss! lol Get it off as soon as possable , bird turds are acidic and gritty seen it create chemical reactions with paint like melting and if you rub it of it scratches.(birds eat dirt and rocks and they shit it too) Same goes with bugs cept they dont got dirt in there crap lol but even more acidic.
