High water and Blazers dont mixmhwpd108 05-22-2004, 11:56 PM We had a really bad storm here tonight, and i ran into some really high water, and then my Blazer cut off, and wouldnt start for about a hour of sitting there, and finally after trying to start it a few times it finally turned over and cranked, and then when i was riding down the road it was jumping a little, and either smoke or steam was coming out the mufflar. And then a little ways down the road it all ran fine but the check engine light is still on. Anybody know of anything?? wehswarriorS-10 05-23-2004, 12:41 AM new plugs and wires, change ur oil and ur air filter then see what happens Rowlin 05-23-2004, 01:22 AM cap, rotor, plugs, wires, oil, air (if needed) and O2 the light is on cause of the o2 got wet and is shorting out if it is an older truck read the code if its a new truck the code most likely a mis fire code due to the water on the wires casueing them to arch out and making a misfire. find out what it is and if nother major clear it and see if it come back on. mhwpd108 05-23-2004, 08:35 AM I went out and cranked it this morning, and the service engine soon light isnt on anymore, and when cranking it, it doesnt sound like it did before. When i first crank it, the oil pressure gauge is high for a little while then it goes back down. mhwpd108 05-23-2004, 11:16 PM I was told by a mechanic to take the spark plugs out and turn the engine over a few times to blow the water out of the pistons, and change the oil, and that should fix the water problem. mhwpd108 05-24-2004, 04:00 PM Well i had my Blazer scanned, and it was the Throttle Position Sensor that went out! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
