Man I loved this anime. I watched the entire series in like 2 days cuzz i was so hooked. Man the animation was gorgeous and it had a great storyline and awesome fight scenes. i even love that jazzy intro song. Does anyone know if theres a second season that came out?? it seems like it left alot of things unanswered. This might be a dumb question, but im not that much into the anime scene..i just borrow my cousins stuff when he gets new dvds

I didn't like the animation. It looks like it was done on computers (probably was) and that really ruins any animation for me.

Gonzo, the studio responsible for Hellsing, is famous for their computer/ink fusion style. Sometimes it works (Last Exile and Yukikaze, for instance) sometimes it bites the big one (Blue Submarine #6, Vandread). They also cannot write their way out of a paper bag.

Seriously, if you watched the whole of Hellsing you notice how far the quality of writing falls after the episodes with the Valentine brothers. This is because the manga (comic to the uninformed) had not gone beyond this point in Japan. The creator was unwilling to tell the story that lay beyond that, so Gonzo's own staff came up with the Incognito arc.

Ooops.

The Hellsing creator was appalled by the result and flat out said he would not allow the rest of the series to be animated by Gonzo. As such, there are no plans for any more Hellsing. However, Dark Horse is translating the Hellsing manga and it's widely available at your local bookstore. Enjoy. :biggrin:

I've watched the first episode and i might buy the series from what i watched it was pretty damn good.

I got the first season on DVD. I was wondering why the Incognito arc was so stupid/made no sense. It's all clear now. It really sucks they won't be making any more episodes. Guess I'll have to check out the manga now.
