got a 85 4-door. It was running bad. (chugalug up hills) So I did a head job on it. Still same prob. New fuel pump ,fuel filters, cap and rotor same prob. I lost my patience and ripped out all the emissions vacum hoses and boxes with my bare hands. (Some help from my friend mr crowbar). No more chugalug and she revvs like a mother but I am having lots of trouble starting her and flooding and ideling. I think I need the secret carborator. Or maybe someone knows how to "simplfy the stock carb. See with no more emission junk the carb is full of "holes". any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.

well first off plug all the holes from the hoses, you want no leaks from those at all. for aftermarket carbs, Weber 32/36 (i think that's the one) will work quite well and will mount to the stock intake manifold, the Weber 40 dcoe dual barrel (sidedraft) will work very well but you will need a sidedraft manifold which could be hard to come by. both of those carbs will not pass emissions

Thanks for your reply wagon dude. I came by a 32/36 weber but it doesn't line up with the stock manifold. That little third hole in the intake that goes to the precombustion cambers has me stupped. If i make a custom carb to intake adaptor should I block this hole or connect with the primary or seconday chambers? I guess I really don't understand what the precombustion chamber does. It it useful when makeing power or no

well firstly we have to know what the secondary chamber does, what it is is a smaller valve in the front of the head that gets a rich mixture and that flows into the prechamber which is also where the spark plug is, the idea is that that will burn first and ignite the rest of the fuel in the main chamber to create a more complete burn (look at the picture below to see what it looks like). so you cannot simply block it off because it won't work properly, the plug does not protrude into the main chamber so it won't ignite properly. as for it not lining up, i was told it should be pretty close, if not you may have to make something work. the secondary barrel should flow into the prechamber runners.

yes, those stats are copied from another site for the most part, i haven’t been able to keep on top of all the mistakes. the D15A2 has 12 main vales plus 4 small CVCC valves for a total of 16. but don't get excited over 16 valves, it's actually not good for performance at all, the Si head is almost the same but without the 4 CVCC valves,

now for the fun part, in Canada and Australia and basically anywhere other then the US the carb motors did not have the 4 extra CVCC valves (which makes those heads somewhat desirable) and according to your profile you live in Puerto Rico so you MIGHT not have CVCC head but i'm not sure on that.

i should point out that the early CVCC engines (83 and older) had 8 main valves and 4 CVCC valves for a total of 12
