Wheel Sizes that Fit

I am looking to buy some black rims, maybe chrome, for my car...finally. Im not sure though to whats gonna look good, because I want 17s, but I dont want it to jack my car up more than it is. I figure if the wheel gets bigger and the tire gets smaller, it should be the same anyway. Do the wheel and tire packages that they sell on websites come ready to go on the car and not rub or anything? I was always wondering that. Also, would these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=66483&item=2479362948&rd=1 fit without rubbing or making the car look 5 feet tall? Gunmetal would be ok too, thats why Im asking about those. These are the ones I really want though... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=66483&item=2479234837&rd=1 Wish they were shiny though. But yea...if either of those would be fine, someone end my confusion. Thanks.

I was looking at my friends 16s on his Grand Am...which are stock...and they look huge already. Its kinda making me think it will be too high off the ground, and/or rub on the suspension or front wells.

40's are thin wont rub
is ur car dropped and if so how low
check out my pic below those are 205 40's on mine with a 1.75 inch drop

So from stock wheels and suspension, you put on 17" rims with those tires...and it was fine with no rubbing at all? Or did you HAVE to get the coilovers to make it ok to drive?

nah i just bought springs and shocks
the neon already has a huge gap in the wheel
and if you think about it stock tires u have already with those stock rimz are about the size of 17's with low pros on it

Yea...thats exactly what I was figuring. Thats good then. Those tires are almost the smallest you can get arent they...unless of course they are. Theyre tiny, thats for sure.

Oh yea...which bolt pattern would work of these...

05-21-2004, 08:37 PM
205 30's smallest tires

neon 94-96 bolt patter is 4x100

While we are on the topic of wheel sizes, the numbers, I am a little confused about them. First number is how wide?, second is ? and the third I know is the wheel size. Oh, MStout, be careful of bad bumps with low pros. One of my buddies bent the hell out of his wheel hitting a big one.

Haha...yea Im well aware of that. I will be going very slow on dirt roads when I absolutely have to...especially since the rocks will chip them like no other. That would make me quite angry/sad at the same time.

Here's my Neon with 17" Team Dynamics Motorsports with 205/40/17s also with a 1.5" drop on Eibach SPortline springs:

Lost a little bit of turning radius but other than that no problems.

Mmmm...perfect. Thanks, I needed that pic to know exactly what it will look like.

19's with a 35 series fits. also, if you have coilovers, you can trim off that ring where the spring used to sit, and the coilovers just sit in the middle, allowing you to have wider tires

Thats too big...17s are fine for me.
