he's a mysterious fellow i tell ya'

well i got bored and thought that i needed to brush up on my paintings so i started 2 of them. this is gonna be the second one. i first did it in photoshop and then i will just use this as a reference for the painting. im gonna do it in different layers...i will paint one subject then let it dry then add a thick layers of fiberglass resin then let it dry then do another subject then ect... hopefully this will get the effect of different layers. this is my first time try out the layer thing and the photoshop thing but hopefully it will turn out good.

well here is the next one in the series. im gonna do pop art painting for each stlye of music. i think its a freakin' cool idea. again i will be using this as a reference picture and then paint it on a canvas. tell me what you guys think.

i will show you more when i find the cable for my digital camera, most of my work it 14 by 17" at least so i cant really scan it i have a couple schrooms im currently working on (ones double faced, pretty raw so far), but all my other large sized finnished ones are sold already. I really only keep the ones i really like, or actualy cared about while making it (or nobody wants to buy)

couldnt find the cord for my digital camera so i had to use this kinda crappy one, pictures arnt bad but i couldnt get enough light into the room so the pics are kinda dark. All of these pictures are from my high school art class assignments. The 2 mask drawings are from freshman year when there was a mexican mask exibit in out schools gallery both are the same siz in real life, about 60 in wide( tall on one of em). The rest are from this last year (sophmore year) The Hulk drawing is just pencil, except for the glow around him, thts colored pencil, it it about 30 in wide in real life, the picture of me punching was for a self portrait assignment, and it is about 18 in tall, the picture of a person standing is a lynolium( god i have no idea how to spell that) print, about 28 inches tall, and the picture of a hand holding a knife is a chalk pastel drawing, about 40 in wide.

Your shading is going good.

It does look good, but the position of some of your values is off, try studying/ reproducing pictures of cloth/ clothing to learn a little bit more about how shadows fall off of the curves in fabric, and the way that creases create other creases in cloth, Kinda get what im saying? You can see in my picture of HULK that i just kind of threw value down quickly, some of it is improperly placed/ not properly transitioned (semester was over and i had to hand it in) shading is all about practice tho , leraning how to control it. Freshman year i sat next to a kid named sam, incredible artist, exellent use of value, he could shade a napkin evenly w/ a ballpoint pen in a couple minuets

Thanks for the feedback ... It was helpful , i could really notice the parts that were off after i read the post. I guess its just gonna take awhile to get good at it......

First the back story.

I work with a bunch of writer types in a highly collaborative environment. The company I work for encourages fun. They built game rooms in every facility. We have satellite, ps2, air hockey, rockem-sockem robots, free vending, and things like snow cone day.

On our team we have about 9 13" action figures we pose and call "Action Figure Theater" It's just another way to blow off steam. The company loves them.


Anyway one of my teammates got pregnant. We decided that one of our action figures (Roger) would be pregnant too and give birth when she did. This way she wouldn't have to go through her pregnancy all alone.

She gave birth yesterday. So did Roger.
