Questions about the 98 Dakotacarlos_colion 05-19-2004, 02:04 PM I need to fix an 98 dakota: 4 cylinders, standard transmision, 2.5 engine. I have some questions and I hope that somebody can help me. - What is the gas tank capacity? - How can the gas gauge can be fix? the gauge sometimes marks that the tank is full and sometimes marks that is empty and the gas pump icon is on. - the owner says that when he filled the tank the gas starts leaking from the top of the tank, does somebody knows if this is a general problems with these trucks? dralin 05-19-2004, 07:06 PM I haven't had any problems with gas leaking when I fill up my tank, I have a 97 RC 5 speed 2.5L. The only thing I can help you with is the fuel capacity. If I am not mistaken, it is a 16 gallon tank. carlos_colion 05-19-2004, 08:23 PM Have you have any problems with the fuel gauge? BleedDodge 05-19-2004, 08:52 PM I believe that the leaking of the tank and the failure of the gas guage should be obvious to you that there is a problem. Come on man. I've never heard of this before, perhaps the tank was changed due to damage or the guage wasn't working before and someone tried to repair it and failed, and now things are worse. Have it looked at. carlos_colion 05-19-2004, 08:57 PM Ok thanks for the help, I will take the truck to the proper person to check this. Thanks! cdman3d 06-09-2004, 01:22 PM Actually the 2.5L only has a 12 gallon fuel tank. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
