Well im starting a new project. I saw a while ago some one was making a wide body shelby series 1. So i found mine and i decided to do a wide body on it. This is going to be my first putty model. I practice with it and seems easy enough. Im going to put the putty on soon. But these pics are what i have so far. Any comments are welcomed.

Parts of the frame are painted.

Small putty added. From the front fenders to the back fenders. Going to work more when it is dry. Nothing to big. Just to add some width on it. Sorry for the bad pics. Lighting isn't all that great. Going to put the rear bumper on and work on that.

Thanks every one so far. Do you mean the rear bumper. If so it is all ready on. I might have to make it bigger. Looks to small. I don't know what to do with the front end and the rear end yet.

there is no moded shelbys that is the prob. the first one i have seen that is'nt originla in the body is my model....
now when i looks at my i loves it... i did't earlier. but i think the shelby hould looks fine with a bigger oval airintake in the front... just to make it look more hungry...

Man that sucks. But if you make the opening larger the air duct will not line up.

Maybe i'll just make the fog lights go away and make the lip bigger. I'm still thinking.

Well got new pics of the putty so far. Just learned i could turn off the flash. You can see the work alot more. Shows the work on the front bumper to the rear end. Need more work on the rear bumper but the exhaust is in the middle. One pic of the frame at the momment. Sorry for the blurry pics. I need ideas for interior painting.

Yeah i hate the sanding. Started to sand some stuff last night. Didn't get around to much. The motor is all done. I might paint the motor cover and air filter the body color. Going to add more detail to the shocks. I found good pics of the rear one. Nice to see you adding a supercharger. Is that why your hood is different. My motor is going to be stock.

Thanks. Updates of my small progress are going to be here later tonight.

nice;) are you using the tamiya putty? that thing is a bitch to work with... i used a soft car putty and it was raly good.. and when i was done i putted on a thin layer off that tamiya epoxy putty and then it got hard as stone... goodluck!

Howielong
05-22-2004, 11:17 AM
Yeah im using the tamiya epoxy putty. It is so hard. But im learning from it. Painted up the shocks black. I'm thinking of doing the interior up in a sandy color.

Looks good Steve. But IMO all the painting should wait until the very end. Go ahead and complete all the body work then paint and build the rest of the model. Thats how you should do your next model IMO.

The front and rear are looking pretty good, but the sides are still looking lumpy dumpty. Definately a good project.

Anyway, I have an idea for the vents, but Im going to draw it up on paper real quick to show you. If thats ok with you.

I got to busy too sketch to I'll just explain it. Extend the fends almost to the quarter panel with putty. So they blend into the normal body really nice. Instead of the widebody of the vents stopping where the vents do, bring it back.Do you understand?

3/4 the back of the door. About a 1/4 past the middle. It would make the car flow real well and create the sense of motion.

Hmm yeah i was thinking of the same thing. Well when i fix some small putty areas i add more to it. Any other ideas people. I may extend the wideness up onto the hood.
