Im shoppingjdrumstik 05-18-2004, 11:24 AM Im somewhat new to the beetle world, but familair about what they are about. My question. First off, what is the best way to find a beetle? I've been looking for a non running, pre 74', 1500CC or more bug with an accetable tranny, save the clutch. I have searched ebay, newspapers, and classifieds, and no one seems to be interested in selling their car at a reasonable price. Im in the sub $500 range. but remember, it won't run. So how do I find these cars, I hear all the time about people, whom, their naibor gave them a car, or they bought it for $50 and it makes me mad. What am I missing? boschmann 05-18-2004, 04:59 PM Not too many people will take the time to advertise a car for less than $500, and ones on eBay & the Samba, etc... often go for far more than they should. You will probably have to drive around and look for one sitting behind someone's house or in the back of a cheap used car lot or rerpair shop's lot. jdrumstik 05-18-2004, 07:55 PM Problem is I like in San Clemente Califonia. 1/4 acre lots wiht no house and no view, are going for $400,000+, there arnt many cars lying around. Any other suggestions? I live in the SF bay area and have a 1969 VW Beetle Convertible. I purchased it for a restoration project that never happened. It still runs. Needs body (paint and few dents) work, tail lights, and a new top. Let me know if this interest you. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
