the 88 started using fuel injection right? would there be a whole lot more to do to put an 88 engine into the 87?

yep you would have to change alot of things

you will need custom mounts (ie. welding). all the 84-87 Si cars are fuel injected, converting to FI is a bit of a job in itself as you need to upgrade the fuel system to the higher pressure.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at an 87 SI(190k), but the idiotic dealer wouldn't go below sticker( about 2k ). Found a 91 HF with under 100k for about same, so I'll just get that in preparation for the summer gas price spikes. I'll run that to school and work till I need a swap, which will be many, many, many years away
