It works when it wants to...Any clues as to what to do? I'm guessing it's time to replace it...Can you get that part anywhere and DIY?? Thanks for your time, I appreciate it...Doug

It is easily replaced with some hand tools. You can buy it just about anywhere. It only takes about 15 minutes to do the job. You have to remove the plastic or metal on the tail gate, then you have access to change the part out. It is 3 bolts and I think 2 plugs(not sure if exact number of plugs to un hook). Then plug new motor in, bolt back in place and replace tail gate panel.
