I'm no expert, but from what I know the 510 will fit the following Nissan motors: L series motors, the KA24E, KA24DE, SR20DET, VG30DE, CA18DET, FJ20DET(not sure of the name), NAPS-Z motors, and Z-series motors (not out of Z-cars). It will also fit the following non Nissan motors: Mazda 13b rotary, various other Toyota motors, and I have even seen Mazda Miata motors, and most impressively Ford small block V8s. I am currently researching the feasability of Nissan VG30DETT, and FWD Sr20DE swaps. If I have forgotten anything, or if there are any other motors, that I may not know about.

the fwd SR swap won't work without a custom bellhousing.
and intake manifold?

When performing a SR20DET swap in a 510, it's best to get yourself a S13 front clip from a Nissan Silvia. This way, you have the engine, tranny, ECU, and harness.

This is the swap I'm planning for one of my 510's.

Here is a 510 swap performed by Kevin Neely, which is one of the resources I am using in my swap.

Kevin Neely's Project 510 (http://speedyzx.com/Project510/Dime.html)

It's a great swap to perform, because you get everything out of it that you could imagine.

Mario Lozano of Toespeed Racing is the master of 510 SR20DET swaps.

Sorry...haven't been on for a while...

I live in Brooklyn, NY.

I'd like to do a 3S-GTE swap in the Corolla, but I need to see how the money goes...

I never met Kevin & Mario personally, but I've spoken to Mario once via email. I've heard great things about them both. For Mario to answer my email was a plus, due to the fact of his hectic schedule. I've also dealt with Dean Sherman a few times, bought parts from him on a number of occasions.

I used to be on the Bluebirds list, that's where I heard about these guys. Too much email though, so I got out of it. If Bluebirds goes to forum format, I'll come back. Lots of nice people there. Very knowledgable and always willing to help out a fellow dimer.

ive seen someone put a honda s2000 motor in a datsun 510 before it fit in pretty good and it was easy because s2000 is rear wheel drive.

That will never happen. :grinno:

Personally, I prefer the email style. Easier to check whenever I feel like it. And the delete key is pretty easy to hit... :smooch:

Now if you were reading it online (MSN, etc.) it would be a whip. But reading it in Outlook is pretty quick and easy, even with 50+ emails a day.
