Wheels are boxstock with gunmetal tamiya spray. like that black headlamp housing... http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/164521spoonctr04.jpg ::Rear view mock up (using blue-tack to stick the tail light and license plate also the exhaust pipe). luv that exhaust... my 1st ever hand made!! thx for this forum n those who helps me. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/164521spoonctr06.jpg ::Another lower rear quarter view. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/164521spoonctr07.jpg ::View of the front wheel and rear wheel. gunmetal with metallic blue lug nuts. ouw yea.... its black-washed aswell... but hardly seen. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/164521spoonctr08.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/164521spoonctr09.jpg ::Clear coating time..!!! this one's after 3 layers of brief coats of clear coat (not the thick coat yet). im at this stage at the moment, waiting for some good mood and good weather to do it. maybe this weekend, but doubt it... weather's so crap. its in my garage, so its pretty humid when raining out side. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/164521spoonctr11.jpg ::Close up of the front quarter, featuring CF hood, red 'H' badge and wire mesh grille. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/164521spoonctr12.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/164521spoonctr13.jpg ::Interior. S2000 v-type (tamiya #24245) steering wheel. red recaros, and floor area are flocked (red). puttying the rear side of the seats using modelling clay!! such a pain to do it with that thing. gone broke after things i bought for this car, paints, styrenes, wiremesh, etc etc. cant be sanded easily, so art knife take part, then the sand papers. cant be smoothed out. ill update later. but good enough for me. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/164521spoonctr10.jpg stisnan 05-12-2004, 09:40 PM Very nice Spoon. I like your exhaust, what size tubing did you use? sugarfree 05-12-2004, 09:41 PM thanx. im using 5.5mm and 4.0mm (those are styrene tubes). u kno, which one goes in which. :D Howielong 05-12-2004, 09:46 PM Man that spoon is coming out great. AstroRide44 05-12-2004, 09:53 PM ya looks really good. ur carbon work looks amazing. more pics of the interior please! supermod04 05-12-2004, 09:55 PM that looks really nice! cant wait to see it finished! SupaMan89T 05-12-2004, 10:12 PM very nice man i wish it was real.i love the sound of 11,500 rpm's.nice work. Slo_Snipe 05-12-2004, 10:21 PM Excellent paint, excellent CF and grill opening, excellent wheels, excellent exhaust, excellent car! Did you use gloss red on the seats? I would suggest flat red for seats instead. And good job with the spoon side mirrors. Fujimi made slots that can only fit stock mirrors. It required me to carefully shave the slot in order for the spoon mirrors to fit right. willimo 05-12-2004, 10:23 PM This looks very nice. The carbon work is fantastic, so is you detail painting. Are you going to polish the clearcoat? That would do wonders for the already fantastic shine... but then, it's a dedicated race machine so one would expect it to be sort of dirty and, well, not so shiney. I love this build, and not just because I am a Spoon fanatic, but because your build is fantastic. jdmaccordian 05-12-2004, 11:09 PM agreatjob! Sk8er6811 05-13-2004, 12:49 AM thanx. im using 5.5mm and 4.0mm (those are styrene tubes). u kno, which one goes in which. :D or do i! hehe j/p nice car so far. i like the paint and hood and everything so far. like previously stated use flat red, or satin sugarfree 05-13-2004, 01:04 AM Some more photos. ::More interior photos as requested... http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr28.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr30.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr29.jpg ::wheel with badge - close up http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr31.jpg ::exhaust pipe. bronze and flat aluminium http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr32.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr33.jpg for the seats, i think i use bright red tamiya spray. anything close enough to flat red on spray can?? cos i dont wanna hav any brush marks as the paint dry.... its quite noticable. long time ago, i was using brush to paint the interior and the under-carriage. but.... those brush marks are very visible.... quite annoying. luckily, that was on my mini pajero kit (fujimi). so... yea, im tryin to use spray paint as much as i can. better results... :naughty: willimo 05-13-2004, 02:28 AM I find that Testors actually makes absolutely great flat sprays. Where their gloss colors drip and run, their flat colors are just that. Perfectly flat. Don't abuse it though, you can always spray too much but you seem to be on it alright. If you want to just dull those down, get some Testors Dullcote. I swear by that stuff. It stinks like mad, and at first looks shiny as hell, but once it dries it turns matt as can be. That stuff is great. Your model is great! The only thing: a real Spoon car would have pulled up all the carpet... weight saving, you know.... Just kidding, looks incredible! kicker1_solo 05-13-2004, 03:01 AM spooooooon, beautiful :) sugarfree 05-13-2004, 03:42 AM pulled out carpet??? is that tru?? cant find any reference... so i just drop the standard type-r spec inside the car as well as practice my flocking skills. hehee. comes out very satisfying.... id do better next time. Bas Carwash 05-13-2004, 04:43 AM Nice car! Love the cf hood. Looks very clean. slk320 05-13-2004, 11:15 AM That looks very clean. I can appreciate how well done the car is despite the subject matter. Do you have any angine in this one? DJPaul 05-13-2004, 11:22 AM nice build. rx7king 05-13-2004, 01:29 PM defintly looks cool, nice exhaust Snooker 05-13-2004, 02:49 PM It looks really good, your cf work is great. Did you use Tamiya chrome for the exhaust tip? blueboost 05-13-2004, 06:33 PM lookin awesome! great clean work!! sugarfree 05-13-2004, 08:07 PM It looks really good, your cf work is great. Did you use Tamiya chrome for the exhaust tip? nope.. i use tamiya flat aluminium for the whole muffler. i was thinkin of getting some Al tube, but change my mind. styrene's cheaper. more expensive but its a pack of 3 or 4, cant remember. so choose that. for the pipe, i use the kit's sprue (i thought it wud b a good idea to save $). heat it up with a lighter a bit, then bend to desired shape. took me couple minutes to learn the curve i want, then couple minutes and some sprues to actually make the curve i really want. IImportSupra 05-13-2004, 09:33 PM Very nice Spoon Ek, also thanks for telling the sizes for your exhaust tip, I plan on making some in the future. sugarfree 05-13-2004, 09:39 PM Hi guys.... finally, its finished.... together with these marvelous photos. took it at my backyard... it was cloudy, but.... quite amazed with the results! just like the one in the car/ performance car magazine.... :grinno: neewayz.... here u go, enjoy :Front view http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr52.jpg :Driver side interior view from the window.. not very clear. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr51.jpg :Rear right quarter view. luv the exhaust... http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr50.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr49.jpg :Front right quarter view http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr47.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr46.jpg :Rear and front left quarter view. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr45.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr43.jpg :Rear frontal view http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/164521spoonctr40.jpg i'll b taking a break for some time now. its been quite tiring my self to do these kits. gotta save some money... wanna get some decent intake system for my REAL car. however... my nxt project will be initial D AE86 levin, just like the one on the cartoon. ouw..... dont forget, please... comments are welcome. im just a newbie... need a lot to learn. this is my 4th kit that i done properly within 2years!!! not much free time to do this. hehehe. c ya'll on my nxt project. *need to clean up my desk.... d'oh!! :banghead: Howielong 05-13-2004, 09:49 PM Man great looking spoon.
