Sun roof problem

Hi

I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the sun roof will open but it will not close. I am thinking that the sun roof motor is probably defective. I have not worked on a sun roof before and am wondering how difficult it is to get at the motor? Do you have to remove the headliner to get at the motor? If you have had experience with this problem can you give me some helpful info? Thanks
