mysterious electrical short

Hello, all!
I have an electrical short that I'm having a problem tracing down right now. I have not laid my hands on a Factory Service Manual, so I don't really know what accessories are ran off of the fuse...
The fuse for the overhead console also runs the turn signals in my ZJ. It popped one day. I replaced the fuse and about a week later it popped again. It steadily increased to the point that it takes about 3 minutes to pop the fuse from the point that the ignition is turned on.
Once it pops, the fuse will blow immediately if another is put in.
My confusion is where to go with this. The fuse runs the overhead console, reverse lights and the turn signals. What wiring I have been able to check has been ok. I disconnected the overhead console and installed a new multifunction switch. As long as the turn signals are being used ( i ran them for 10 minutes), there is no obvious problem. Return switch to center and in a few minutes, the fuse pops.
Anyone got any ideas I can go to without buying $100+ book for a wiring diagram?
BJ
