manual transmission oil changeeswaroop 05-11-2004, 12:08 AM Hi, Sorry for posting in a different forum but I guess I am trying my best shot at this. I have a protege, and was looking at the owners manual for maintenance of manual tranny. There is NO oil change suggested for the tranny for the lifetime of the car, that sounds funny. I was wondering if I should get the tranny oil changed, and if it is possible. Engine is a 99 protege 1.6 L Thanks es flex339 05-11-2004, 04:05 AM it's possible and it wouldn't hurt if you have a higher mileage car. eswaroop 05-11-2004, 06:14 PM it's possible and it wouldn't hurt if you have a higher mileage car. It currently has 75000 miles on it. Guess its a good candidate? flex339 05-12-2004, 02:27 AM i guess Soyo 05-12-2004, 04:17 PM I doubt it needs to be done... but if you want to go to the trouble then go for it SynikalFan 05-20-2004, 10:24 AM if the manual for your protege says that there doesnt need to be an oil change for your tranny, then i probably would follow what the manual says. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
