View Full Version : AF or GF or DF? AF or GF or DF? Volken 05-10-2004, 08:28 PM Considering ratio of reading and write habits of participant of these forums which is 9:1, it think it is safe to rename them as Ghost Forums or Death Forums. Forgive my freedom to say so in this direct way, but I think it is safe to say this AF is not advertised as it should be on web, clearly reflecting this absence of substance. I'm by far not alone with this remark ! I like AF, like design, like people, but, friends say things to friends even when they don't want to hear the same. :( freakray 05-10-2004, 09:11 PM What the hell are you talking about there not being many new posts on AF? I can't keep track of all the new posts on AF daily. I was away for 4 days and when I came back yesterday there were so many new posts in the forums I frequent I gave up trying to read them all. Maybe you need to not rely on the red checks for forums with new posts, go into the forums and start reading..... YogsVR4 05-10-2004, 09:36 PM If you look at http://www.big-boards.com/index.php?type=vBulletin&sort=week&page=all you will see that AF had over 24,600 posts last week. Its grown leaps and bounds. There are thousands of boards on the web. AF is kicking ass! Twilight Zone freakray 05-10-2004, 10:35 PM You didn't say specific forums, you spoke in general and that's why we said you're wrong. I agree that those makes aren't the most active, but look at what 2 out of 3 of them are, exotics. As for Saab, wonder why that's particularly dead, I have a soft spot for Saabs (rally heritage). Here in good old Europe, Alfa is hardly exotic :) All I say, AF should attract more attention on the web, so that more people should know about the same, that is all. I wouldn't speak of this burden if I wouldn't like AF and only wish better treatment for all AF forums. More attention is needed to atract more people into all forums. freakray 05-11-2004, 09:19 PM I said 2 out of 3, I meant 2 out of 4, sorry. I was referring to Pagani and Lotus, but then again, where I am from Alfa are exotic too, as are Saab. Take into consideration that the bulk of the membership here is from N.America where none of those cars are often seen. Volken 05-12-2004, 09:49 PM I said 2 out of 3, I meant 2 out of 4, sorry. I hope AF will promote more attention to Euro users as well to bring some life into these forums. SabreKhan 05-14-2004, 11:51 AM Even in Europe, though, the Saabs and Alfas aren't the most popular cars on the road, are they? YogsVR4 05-14-2004, 02:22 PM How do you suggest that AF get more European members? One thing about the site is that English is the primary language used. Its true that many Europeans can write in English, but there are a good majority of sites that exist in other languages. Any ideas on how to get around that? Volken 05-16-2004, 08:35 PM How do you suggest that AF get more European members? One thing about the site is that English is the primary language used. Its true that many Europeans can write in English, but there are a good majority of sites that exist in other languages. Any ideas on how to get around that? Hardly so, Alfa is making record sales in Europe, many models have been models of the year awarded. Alfa has never been more popular then presently As for Saab, certainly German,Italian and French brands have stronger market presence, but it is safe to say that Saab has more then adequate group of loyal fans as well. But in either way, hardly a ghost on any roads in Europe. How do you attract them here? Easy, advertise more on the web, in more dedicated forums and sites everywhere. That does it all the time. Google is a good way, I have never seen AF presented in banners there. More Incentive from AF more people will come, simple as that. freakray 05-16-2004, 08:55 PM I've never seen a banner ad on google.....did I miss something? Volken 05-16-2004, 10:06 PM I've never seen a banner ad on google.....did I miss something? No you speak about main search page google.com. That would be a search engine. I'm talking about their Advertising Programs. For example anyone from any country will be attracted by exactly the ad from his own speaking locality, and then directed to any product or promotion. That is how Google is making business these days. So AF would need in many areas to focus his attention to those that never heard of AF as such. Very simple and easy, after all AF is also promoting products and to make money you need to invest some money :) In our case as forum participants, quality and posts would be greatly increased in substance. Google is just one, there are so many other options as well. Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com! Registration is absolutely free. |
