what would be your choice for a street car?youngvr4 05-10-2004, 04:48 PM which would you choose for a street car, to go out at night and race if these were your only choices, the ford svt contour subaru svx or the base model 300zx? 3kgt8 05-10-2004, 05:14 PM 300zx all the way. bad ass cars. turbo2nr 05-10-2004, 05:20 PM svx? ?? caleb56 05-10-2004, 05:23 PM contour TerminalVelocity 05-10-2004, 05:23 PM svx all the way...just because its pretty badass looking, and handles well there is a turbo kit for it too, makes decent power the tranny has problems, depending on the years....which sucks....but I would deal with it, infact there is a way you can mate a WRX tranny to it and thus...eliminate the problems. Raz_Kaz 05-10-2004, 05:38 PM svx? ?? :iamwithst never heard of an svx??? RACER D12 05-10-2004, 05:42 PM 300ZX because well... it just looks better. And more potential I would think too. youngvr4 05-10-2004, 05:48 PM never seen this before? http://www.auto.vl.ru/catalog_photos/subaru/alcyone_svx/subaru_alcyone_svx_12822.jpg i personally would go with the svt contour, they have a supercharger for it and i've seen it in action, good power and nice grip of the line. TerminalVelocity 05-10-2004, 05:58 PM well...last I checked AWD has good grip too :icon16: Raz_Kaz 05-10-2004, 06:06 PM never seen this before? http://www.auto.vl.ru/catalog_photos/subaru/alcyone_svx/subaru_alcyone_svx_12822.jpg i personally would go with the svt contour, they have a supercharger for it and i've seen it in action, good power and nice grip of the line. Unfortunantly I haven't. Ironically I've seen more ferrari's and viper's than that Subaru. With that said I go with the 300zx, I find it quite attractive :naughty: Polygon 05-10-2004, 06:16 PM If I had no other option but these three cars I would take the Fairlady ZX TT. Fastest of the group and the best looking IMO. youngvr4 05-10-2004, 06:17 PM Unfortunantly I haven't. Ironically I've seen more ferrari's and viper's than that Subaru: lol, they are rare cars, even more rare than my car, i think i see a svx as often as i see a supra. youngvr4 05-10-2004, 06:19 PM If I had no other option but these three cars I would take the Fairlady ZX TT. Fastest of the group and the best looking IMO. only the base model 300zx is included in this Polygon 05-10-2004, 06:21 PM only the base model 300zx is included in this Oh, then you're referring to the 300Z. The 300ZX was turbo and the 300Z was N/A. I would still take the Z. Raz_Kaz 05-10-2004, 06:23 PM lol, they are rare cars, even more rare than my car, i think i see a svx as often as i see a supra. I see so there IS a reason that I haven't seen that car before. I just thought my little shit hole area wasn't blessed enough for it's presence, BTW, what are it's specs? 209 neon 05-10-2004, 06:24 PM I all ways liked the svx youngvr4 05-10-2004, 06:39 PM Oh, then you're referring to the 300Z. The 300ZX was turbo and the 300Z was N/A. I would still take the Z. then why is it that the n/a "300z" say 300zx on the back? flylwsi 05-10-2004, 06:42 PM youngvr4 05-10-2004, 06:49 PM SVX performance specs courtesy of Gil B. from California. He was in here like last month. 2000LS1Z28 05-10-2004, 10:44 PM That's easy the Subaru SVX. It would be the perfect sleeper. 65Fstbk 05-10-2004, 11:58 PM Contour. The SVX is ... well... gross looking. Just my opinion... sorry. The 300ZX is cool though... got a ride in a twin turbo version of one around Willow Springs raceway two years ago... was a blast. AcesHigh 05-11-2004, 12:03 AM The Z. There's a reason the SVX didn't make it big. GTR2b 05-11-2004, 12:23 AM Contour SVT by a long shot. I drove the '98 SVT when I was shopping for my SS. Those things are fast as hell and the V6 sings to you at 5000rpms. The handling was also crisp and responsive. The 300ZX is the best looking by far but NA they are slow assed cars. Also, the SVX is a nice looking car and quite powerfull, but good luck getting parts for one. 3kgt8 05-11-2004, 02:20 AM a 300zx N/A is not a slow ass car. it might not be the TT but its decently fast. i bet you it would kick a lot honda, mustang v6,camarosv6 and other cars's asses. YogsVR4 05-11-2004, 12:46 PM I've always like the 300Z and the SVX. For me it would come down between the two and I'd lean toward the SVX. The 300 wouldn't be right without being the top of the line model. MR2Driver 05-11-2004, 04:39 PM a 300zx N/A is not a slow ass car. it might not be the TT but its decently fast. i bet you it would kick a lot honda, mustang v6,camarosv6 and other cars's asses. Yeah but those Honda's and V6's are also slow. The 300Z NA isnt very quick at all. But then again, as far as im concerned, if a car isnt at least in the 14's stock, its slow. kfoote 05-11-2004, 05:12 PM If it wasn't for one major issue, IMO it would be close between the SVX and the Z, but I believe the SVX was only available with and automatic transmission, and thus loses out to the Z. youngvr4 05-11-2004, 05:20 PM do you guys actually know what the svt contour's specs are and what its capable of? 01venom_ 05-11-2004, 05:34 PM which would you choose for a street car, to go out at night and race if these were your only choices, the ford svt contour subaru svx or the base model 300zx? Why in the hell would you get a N/A 300zx?? That goes for the subaru too. Turbo cars are much easier to mod, because its cheaper to turn up boost and get other parts. Keep in mind a stock 300zx turbo would run with my car stock, but also keep in mind that my car is definitly not stock. youngvr4 05-11-2004, 05:35 PM its a simple ?, which would you choose if these were your only options. LjasonL 05-11-2004, 06:06 PM d00d... rarity, AWD, 3.3 liter flat 6. A flat 6! :bananasmi :bananasmi :bananasmi :bananasmi :bananasmi It's even got the little supercar style windows that only the bottom half roll down! OMG WOW GSFDA!!!!111one What more do I have to say? STi 6 speed with DCCD + twin turbo SVX = I just got off thinking about it The Z. There's a reason the SVX didn't make it big. The reason is cuz most people aren't nearly cool enough to handle that car  Skavoovie 05-11-2004, 07:21 PM SVX just for the novelty factor. cndctrdj 05-13-2004, 10:22 PM svx all the way...just because its pretty badass looking, and handles well there is a turbo kit for it too, makes decent power the tranny has problems, depending on the years....which sucks....but I would deal with it, infact there is a way you can mate a WRX tranny to it and thus...eliminate the problems. dont all subaru's have problems with the tranny sounds like dodge ha ha Polygon 05-13-2004, 10:27 PM dont all subaru's have problems with the tranny sounds like dodge ha ha Hmm, sounds like ignorance. You know very little about Subaru or Dodge. I would suggest not making biased unfounded comments like that. cndctrdj 05-13-2004, 10:35 PM dodge has had documaented trouble with almost every truck they have ever made, thier trannies do not hold up to the power they put down. if you read magazines at all they all complain that the neons transmission is its only problem. ecvery time i hear about someone putting any power to the ground in a wrx they blow thier tranny. i have two friends that have replaced thier 2.5 rs trannies because they are made very cheaply.... so i am just talking from experience.... i did make it out as a joke but if you are going to be like this... initialdrift sw20 06-28-2005, 11:42 PM the 300z. the svx is too heavy. p.s. i see svx, supra's, RX-7, ferrari 360, 550 and a skyline gt-r r32 all the time. -The Stig- 06-28-2005, 11:47 PM the 300z. the svx is too heavy. p.s. i see svx, supra's, RX-7, ferrari 360, 550 and a skyline gt-r r32 all the time.
