My ABS light comes on and off while I'm driving. It usually comes on while I drive and it'll turn off when I come to a stop. Somedays it will come on and some days it won't. Is this just a normal check light for you to inspect your brakes? I know my rear brakes need to be changed, but will that trip the system or do I have another wonderful sensor problem? I plan on changing the brakes within the next few days, just wanted some opinions just incase changing the brakes doesn't help.

thanks
fred

I guess I'll be a smart one and get the codes pulled... Man my mustang is so much easier ;).

That would be my suggestion..if the ABS light comes on, then the EBCM will set a code..this will aid in diagnostics

I have the same problem. I drive a 93 C/K Blazer with ABS. This is what I have noticed:

The light comes on when the speed climbs past 15mph.
The light goes off when the speed goes below 15 mph.
I have checked for a code from the computer and only recieved a 12.
On a side note, I noticed the cruise control stopped working.

I do not know if they are related???

Any thoughts as to what is causing this? Is it an ABS wheel sensor? Is it the beginning of a computer problem?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

you need a scan tool that is 'abs friendly' that will send the x'F2570101' message to the bus to put the ECM 'asleep' that way the EBCM can respond.

Im betting what you see is a mismatch signal or intermittent dropout of one of the wheel sensors. you will surprised how much ferrous crap sticks to the reluctor ring.

Iam having a similar problem but both brake and abs lights come on at 51mph now it happening at 44mph after having rear brakes done and im using a sunpro code scanner for abs codes and i only get code 12
also the lights go off when vehicle slows down without using the brakes to slow the vehicle speed

I had the codes pulled on my blazer and I came up with a front right wheel speed sensor (or vehical speed sensor). I have a 98 which comes with a "complete wheel hub" and I have been told that the sensor is part of the hub. A year ago I had to buy new wheel hubs ($250) so I don't want to buy another one. I tried to see if I could purchase the sensor seperate but I couldn't find a part number. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.
