Crankshaft position sensorBLUELIGHT 05-09-2004, 11:14 PM Can anyone tell me where the crankshaft position sensor is located. I know there is two of them on a 96 ford f-150. I swapped the engine with a rebuild about a year ago and I think that some of the other engine parts are showing their age. I have searched all through my Haynes manual but can't find it. It seems to be a simple part to replace but can't locate it???? irish30 05-09-2004, 11:28 PM I just looked through my Ford manual and I don't think your truck has one. Still searching though. :sunglasse ModMech 05-10-2004, 01:20 PM '96? That would be a: 300-6, 302-V8, or a 352-V8, none of which EVER had crank sensors. Crank position is inferred from the pick-up in the distributor. BLUELIGHT 05-10-2004, 04:55 PM Thanks guys, Maybe I am not crazy. I was going by the scanner code. I have a lot of hesitation but I have replaced all the typical tune-up parts(wires, plugs, distr. etc) and I verified the timing too. The scanner is telling me misfire in cylinder #1 and#2 also.........I'm stumped..
