New to me truck and fuel gauge does not work. Indicates empty and fuel warning light comes on.

Anyone have idea where to start looking?

it requires changing fuel sender to part#52017992. hope this helps.

Truns out that is exactly what the problem was. Wasn't sure if it was (referring to other posts on this) since the gas light was lit. But replaced sender and all is good.
