i paid 350 bux for it, all i had to do was put in a new starter (144 bux for a bosch starter) ... it needs a cv-joint (dont know what side) and a windshield... other than that the guy i got it from showed me his papers from when he bought it 10 months ago that the guy before him dropped in a new engine (1.9 SEFI)
and that it has less than 20,000k on it.

other than that it doesnt smoke, burn, or leak oil. just when i back up i get click and i feel a jerk from the car and when turning at the same time i get a consistant click from the front end (which i'm sure is cv related).

ohh... and the ebrake doesnt work either .. i tried to get the drums off the back to see if i can adj it out but they wouldnt come off.

are the drums and the hub 1 piece or should the drum just come off by itself.

thanks for your time.

yea i noticed those, altho when i took them out it looked like they were just there for the heck of it, maybe for brake adj, i could be wrong ...
i will check again tomorow..

i did lots of work to my honda before i sold it so i knew how it came apart and goes back together ... this car is new to me so i'm not entirely sure on how alot of things on it work... altho im open to learning lol.

thanks for the reply

The rear breaks on Escorts are nice and simple. When I first got mine the E-break was ceased, there is a little finger that push's the pads out when the e-break is pulled. Make sure they move freely.

the little finger stickin out of both sides move fairly easy (if i use a screwdriver i can move it father than the ebreak lever itself moves them)
... they dont move alot so could it be somthing inside the car ... like maybe and adjuster underneath the ashtray console between the front seats, or underneath the car even?

still havent gotten around to pulling the back wheels off ... it may move to a weekend project, i hope that nothing actually has to replaced yet or at all for a while for the fact that i just bought a starter for it and cash flow is tight for a while lol.

for $350cdn ... i'm not gonna complain... its really good on gas compaired to my jeep (4.0HO MPFI)
