1/43rd scale version of chassis #011 - I'm in love!!Peloton25 05-09-2004, 12:00 AM So I'm kinda bored right now and thought I'd take a look at the Japanese Yahoo Auctions site (using a web translator) to see if there are any unique McLaren F1 items for sale over there. Look what I found... http://img147.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/users/5/9/2/4/rms_titanic-img600x450-1083558289img_2983.jpg http://img147.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/users/5/9/2/4/rms_titanic-img600x450-1083558297img_2985.jpg http://img147.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/users/5/9/2/4/rms_titanic-img600x450-1083558305img_2984.jpg It looks to be a product of Autobarn based on the box design/color and the base w/plaque. I'm in love and will simply have to have one as this is my favorite McLaren F1 by far. Wow! - that's all I can say right now... :lol2: >8^) ER mclarenmaniac 05-09-2004, 12:05 AM Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Peloton25 05-09-2004, 12:06 AM For those who live under a rock, or simply aren't familiar with the actual car, here's some photos. It was auctioned through Christie's in England last summer for just under £600,000. These first two shots are credited to 'tvrfreak' btw: http://a0.cpimg.com/image/BE/60/16263870-75af-028001E0-.jpg http://a7.cpimg.com/image/CF/61/16263887-c2ce-028001E0-.jpg These came from the Christie's auction page: http://a4.cpimg.com/image/62/1B/19586914-12ac-021D0169-.jpg http://a2.cpimg.com/image/74/1C/19586932-365e-021D0196-.jpg And this shot from a website report on the auction - this one might be new for a few people here as I forgot to post it when I found it. :sorry: http://www.supercarfreak.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=527 mini magic saw this car in person at the auction and has a few photos of his own that he's shared with us. Maybe he can share some more. ;) >8^) ER Peloton25 05-09-2004, 12:12 AM Hmmmm - I'm just realizing why it looked a little strange now that I have all the photos together.... It doesn't have the LM Kit front end! :disappoin :banghead: That seems odd considering that all the other cars they have put out have been GTRs with the same front. Why go to the road car front end when this is clearly trying to imitate a car with the HDF Kit? Anyway - I'll probably still get one, but I'm less enthused about it now... >8^) ER Peloton25 05-09-2004, 01:15 AM Rather than start a new thread - I found this black F1 road car in another auction. It too looks to be from Autobarn. It's a shame I'm not wealthy enough to fill a shelf or two with all these 1/43rd scale F1s! :grinno: http://img145.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/users/5/9/2/4/rms_titanic-img600x450-1080965380img_2779.jpg http://img145.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/users/5/9/2/4/rms_titanic-img600x450-1080965387img_2780.jpg http://img145.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/users/5/9/2/4/rms_titanic-img600x450-1080965394img_2781.jpg The base is labeled incorrectly as an F1 GTR, but I think they are saving money by reusing their standard plaques. EDIT: Found another color - Dan Kennedy should buy this one. ;) http://img125.ac.yahoo.co.jp/users/5/9/2/4/rms_titanic-img600x450-1080965111img_2776.jpg http://img125.ac.yahoo.co.jp/users/5/9/2/4/rms_titanic-img600x450-1080965120img_2777.jpg http://img125.ac.yahoo.co.jp/users/5/9/2/4/rms_titanic-img600x450-1080965126img_2778.jpg >8^) ER tvrfreak 05-09-2004, 01:46 AM He bought a 1:1 scale model...:) I don't really see the appeal of having so many models of the same car...what do you do with them? They don't make very good toys. And they would clutter up a shelf if you put more than 3 on a shelf, I would think. So, all you guys who get these models, can you post some pics of what you do with them or how you display them? Also, is there a remote control McLaren F1 toy/model anywhere? Or an F1 body that you could put on top of a fairly powerful remotely controlled chassis? That would be pretty cool, as long as it was superfast! Peloton25 05-09-2004, 03:04 AM He bought a 1:1 scale model...:) True... So, all you guys who get these models, can you post some pics of what you do with them or how you display them? I posted this before, but here's my shelf of 1/18th scales: http://a5.cpimg.com/image/B9/69/26295225-41a6-027400AB-.jpg Also, is there a remote control McLaren F1 toy/model anywhere? Or an F1 body that you could put on top of a fairly powerful remotely controlled chassis? That would be pretty cool, as long as it was superfast! There are both - there's some cheesey Tyco-like RC cars shaped like the longtail GTR and there are also 1/10th scale RC bodies that could fit over some really fast gas RCs. You can find both on Ebay if you're interested. >8^) ER Mr. Bernoulli 05-09-2004, 03:43 AM These came from the Christie's auction page: http://a4.cpimg.com/image/62/1B/19586914-12ac-021D0169-.jpg http://a2.cpimg.com/image/74/1C/19586932-365e-021D0196-.jpg >8^) ER Thanks Peloton. :bigthumb: Such a beautiful colour at that time in the morning - it looks so different in sunlight. I left you an email asking if you were interested in some cool stuff (you, I will allow posting it for me). Best regards from Norway to you all, Thorst. Hello Thorst- My apologies for not reply to your email sooner. I just found it in the "Junkmail" file of my inbox - it was automatically delivered there as seems to happen with a lot of the email I receive through Ebay. :( I also found two other emails in there that should not have been "junk" - one sent through this site and another sent from Ebay. I guess I need to check in there more often... Anyway, I will reply shortly and welcome to our forum! The Autobarn F1 Road cars have been produced in 3 colours Black, Silver and Orange. MikeGTR Thanks for the list Mike - Do you have any of these cars yourself or are you just a fan of miniatures? I have photos of all the ones you list except their silver road car. If you have a shot of it, can you forward it to me? on the fourth pic, it is another orange F1 next to the blue one ? I saw these pics on www.mmc-paris.fr but don't refind since. Also have all 45 minichamps Mclaren F1GTR's. How do I go about posting a photograh of the Silver Road Car ? MikeGTR Peloton25 05-09-2004, 05:57 PM mini magic - I haven't decided if the sig will stick around yet, but I so love that shot! Mike GTR - So your name truly does fit you well. :D Jealous isn't the word ;) - that must be a spectacular looking collection. Do you display them all together or do you keep them tucked away in boxes? I'd love to see one or two great photos of all the Minichamps and Autobarn cars together. That would be awesome! As for photos, if you have them hosted somewhere on the web, or if you have a URL to the image you can click on this image in the posting window " http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/wysiwyg/vB_InsertImage.gif " and paste the URL into the window that pops up. You can also do it manually by typing and pasting the URL in between them, eliminating any spaces. If you don't have them hosted on the web (meaning they just live on your harddrive) or if you don't have a place to host them, feel free to email them to me directly at Peloton25@hotmail.com and I will ensure they make it here. Looking forward to whatever you can send our way. >8^) ER Thorst13 05-09-2004, 06:30 PM Peloton25 I have all the Autobarn Mclaren F1GTR models, just waiting for the blue road car to be delivered (Stuck in Customs, been there a week). Ciao phil Mpowered 06-09-2004, 08:55 PM I have a total of 19 from 1/87 to 1/18. I should have bought the 1/12 a few years ago when they were affordable. I only display 2 of them. The rest will be displayed when I can get a decent display case. My favorite is the Fina presentation model with no numbers on it. That one along with the dark green McLaren F1 are my favorites. I don't have pictures of them and am not able to post pics anyway. I just enjoy collecting them hoping one day to have a complete set of 1/18 cars. :2cents: Thorst13 06-10-2004, 07:07 AM I've got ALL Minichamps (UT, PMA) McLArens in 1:12, 1:18. 1:43. 1:64 & 1:87. :naughty: I also have a big collection of non-official McLarens made for my own pleasure. :iceslolan I'm gonna take a pic. of them all together and send Pelotons way. I have posted some of my 1:12 & 1:18 in another tread. My collection should be around 150+ McLarens in various scales. I'm really only a 1:18 collector, but for McLaren I'd had to have them all! Peloton25 06-10-2004, 03:36 PM The orange AutoBarn road car with the wing appeared on the Japanese Yahoo Auction's site and I figured others might be interested. Again, it seems strange to me as they would have had a pretty good example of the LM had they included the GTRs nose treatment on this one. I'm surprised they didn't, especially when the Minichamps "GTR Prototype" is not accurate of the real 'GTR prototype' nor the LM. http://img125.ac.yahoo.co.jp/users/5/9/2/4/rms_titanic-img600x450-1086757238img_3099.jpg http://img125.ac.yahoo.co.jp/users/5/9/2/4/rms_titanic-img600x450-1086757247img_3100.jpg http://img125.ac.yahoo.co.jp/users/5/9/2/4/rms_titanic-img600x450-1086757262img_3101.jpg I'm also sort of surprised that this doesn't mirror the color of the Kandy Orange #073 that was auctioned by Christies since the blue version looks so much like #011. This one was just released recently: http://i7.ebayimg.com/01/i/01/f2/2a/b0_1_b.JPG The "GTR Prototype" that looks similar to the LM was released last year. I don't see why they would stop making different variations given the immense popularity and collectibility of the Minichamps F1s.
