99 Sub. Melting Positive Lead on Batterybluephi1914 05-08-2004, 09:22 PM Why would my postive battery cable be melting on my battery. I was running around town today, and all things considered, it was 94 degrees today, but when i went to start it it wouldnt budge, i popped the hood and the positive lead was loose, although the screw was tight and i could see that the lead was melting and this casued the leads to be loose enough for me to move them up and down. Any Suggestions ? GMMerlin 05-09-2004, 06:26 AM Why would my postive battery cable be melting on my battery. Any Suggestions ? Probally the cable has been loose for a while. This creates a high resistance connection and will cause the connection to heat up. I would replace the battery and the cables...and use factory or direct factory replacement cables...dont use those cheap replacement ends. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
