Hope someone out there can help. Our 99 Plymouth Grand Voyager recently started doing weird things electrically.. doors locks opening/closing, lights on/off while van was moving. This happened occasionally.Well tonight in a major thunderstorm the oil light and battery light came on and the steering became very stiff.
Please tell me if I have a major problem....
Any help/advice is much appreciated

The battery light and stiff steering is probably due to your serpentine belt slipping off. You need to figure out HOW the belt got water on it and made it slip off. (Have you ever sprayed belt dressing on it? That's a no-no for serpentine belts). Look for a missing/hanging rubber shield underneath the engine on the passenger side. Also, check that the drain for the vent below windshield (strategically located directly over the belt, DUH!) is not leaking/missing. Good luck!
