Me another wrx and an sti went on a caynon run. I pulled on the sti everywhere other than the exit of the turns and the straight. Anyways on the way back after the caynon we got to do a few rolls. 1st time 2 lanes in 4th gear around 3.5k we hit it around the same time he pulls on me slowly and we shutdown sometime before 5th. 2nd he was behind me and he hits it and makes to pass me so i jump on it in 3rd at 4k and we were even till I shifted then he pulled on me. We shut down right after the shift. Man do I want the sti 6 speed, can't wait till I get the turbo in.

A couple of issues here...

The STi and WRX gear ratios are totally different. If you were in 4th at 3.5k, the STi was in 4th at about 5k or in 5th at about 3k. The shift points are totally different, so if he rolled in 5th, he wouldn't have had to shift.

Also, from where the STi was pulling on you and the mods you have, he wasn't driving the car hard, and very possibly was not using full throttle. for driving your car harder though

I was runnin a 91 oct map when I raced cuz I was getting knock earlier that night with the 93 oct map which I dynoed on. From a roll a race between a sti and a wrx won't be equal because of the gear ratios. What mph are you at for 4th and 5k and what mph would you shift at?
The only dynos I could find were on turboxs the stock wrx and an stock sti don't match up. The loss from flywheel to wheels are too different. You know of a wrx and an sti dyno?

Edit: found an sti and a wrx dynos and the sti was 228 whp. I dynoed at 227 so the sti doesn't have much on me. Since I was using a less agressive map about 10-15whp and gears.

so the sti was at 228whp and your saying that your also at 227whp, so what is that for your car 270bhp?

Good kill. I remember my first run against a WRX (Actually my only race with the EVO). I blew him away, and then he blew me away. I think he used nirous on me. Oh well. What turbo are you putting on your car?

youngvr4: no offence but did you even look at what car I'm driving? wrx and sti should have nerly identical drivetrain loss. So if a stock sti makes 300bhp and 228whp mine would have 300bhp.

2000ls1z28: I'm putting a vf37 its a twinscroll like the evo. It came off of the jdm sti spec C which has around 340 hp "stock." It'll only be good for around 280-290 whp untill I get a bigger i/c but I'm almost broke :(

Ya it gets annoing when my B****s give me lip and I gots to slap them.

I got to do the canyon again tonight with the sti and there was an evo that came too. At the end it was evo, sti, then me and the sti was realy slowing me down. evo had some mods but I don't remember anythin exsept turbo back, and a smaller battery in order to run straigter ic pipes.

STi and WRX has different Drivertrain loss.
Most of STi dynoed at 240-250 whp stock. that is why you lost.
According to you calculation, STi @228 and you are @ 227, you should kicked his ass since WRX is much lighter than STi.

the question was asked because i dont know much about your car, i know that a normal wrx is about 227bhp and sti is 300bhp
so i assumed your car stock was at 227bhp not whp. this was my curiosity. no offence taken :)
