I'm just glad they stuck with a NISSAN engine and a CHEVY 350... that is one of my pet-peeves! Nice car!!!! Imagine pulling up to that car at a red-light!

it's actually a VH45. VQ's are v6's only. and i bet you $100 it's gonna be a VQ in the R35 GTR. it's lighter weight than a V8 or an iron blocked RB motor and it can sit further back on the frame for even better weight distribution.

I dunno about you guys...but i love the paint!!

That's some very nice custom work, both on the body and under the hood!

I especially like the rear fender flares, they blend into the body lines very nicely.

As for the pipes, they didn't have to make that many cutbacks and welds, but it does look rather pretty, what with teh nice curves. Very nice compounded multipiece elbows.[/fabricator babble]

It looks like they just TIG torched the welds, and didn't use any filler rod at all.

ya that car is a new god in the realm of amazing cars... i personally like the sc'd lt1 in the 240 but hey... thier as actually a s13 with an lt1 in it somewhere on the web

believe me when i say, you do NOT want one. it is a living nightmare. it looks a lot better than it really is. you CANNOT work on your car. you CANNOT take it to anyplace that works on one.

it IS super cool if you have tons, and tons, and tons, and tons of money doing nothing but sitting in the bank.

do NOT buy one unless you have a good 30-40k to spare for one as in the video. maintenance is not a highlight of one of those cars.

i had one for two months and put about 5k in it.

Bullshit, I've got a 240z... I've had it for a bit over 6 months now and I've only put $1000 into for basic maintanence (plugs, wires, rotor, points & condensor), new tires and having the rear brakes redone since they crapped out from being old.

Other than that, the car has been a blast to drive.

And with a V8 in the car, You CAN work on the car. You just have to KNOW what to do.

And it only costs, about $500 to swap in a SBC into a S30 chassis to do it right.

Don't even bother posting if you think you have a nice car to show this 240 takes the cake. Those lights are ugly though. Here I thought a 510 with a vq35 was cool but those 240's are so stylish. :worshippy

I absolutely love Datsun 240z and 280z with all my heart and I have to say this is one of the best looking Datsuns I have ever seen. Its even got my dream color. :bigthumb:

Ehh, wrong. I do know the cost of putting in a SBC into a S30 chassis. Yes, S30... Z30 is incorrect.

Maintaining the car is easy... SBC's are easy thing to work with and diagnose. If you know what you're doing.

Plus, you have to build the car to withstand the abuse of all the extra torque. Chassis stiffining is a must, but nothing a few dollars of steel and a welder can't fix.

It's not huge deal, but you have to know what you're doing. JTR makes a great kit, and a nice book to go along with it. I've read the book cover to cover, it's time consuming to do it right. But well worth it in the end.

But no, a V8 into my Z... probably won't happen. Going to keep her straight six for the time being... if all goes according to plan.

That is so nice. Five years back when I was looking around for an old car to restore with intentions of racing I was looking at a 240 just like that, a '67 Camaro and my '65 Mustang.

All owned by this guy... he had lots of toys. I decided on the Mustang... I don't regret it one bit, but if I come across another nice looking 240 I'll pick it up.

They've put so much work into that thing... beautiful.

i saw the blowoff valve at ~33 sec and just assumed it was turbo. it's awesome regardless.

the supercharger at 25 seconds, or the shot of the driver's side header even earlier *could* have given it away... ;)
no biggie, just making sure it's clear...

in the longer version of the video he shows you the supercharger and you can see its an lt1... very nice setup
