Im in the process of buying a 96 legsacy gtb 5 speed manuel bbut i really want to know what the fuel economy is like before makiing my final decision. Any words of wisdom would be great, thanks nzaneity New Zealand dion 05-06-2004, 11:33 PM Gidday. Well I have since purchased a 94 RS (previously had a 91 GT 5 sp) anyways, as far as Legacy Turbo (or twin turbo's in your case) go it depends upon how heavy your right foot is of course and what you have previously owned to compare it to. Manuals are slightly better than Auto's on fuel but at the end of the day Legacy's are not great for fuel economy. Answer depends upon size of your fuel tank which I would say will be 46 ltr or there abouts. You can expect about town 300-330 normal driving - Open road about 400 km's. A good air filter and change the exhaust (if not already done) to 2 1\2" mid section and 3" rear section MAY increase milage slightly. However you just wont get another car (or wagon) that will compare unless you go for a Legnum VR-4 so it's up to you. If you have one in mind that you are dead serious about tell the dealer that you want it for a day night - say a Friday and test it? Let me know would be interested.......
