'84 944. Geting no oil pressure. Had engine dropped out and pump, crankshaft seal (seal replaced), and pick-up lines and filters checked. Was told everything is fine with those items. Still no pressure. I can remove the oil filter and turn the engine over and no mess. Does anyone have any ideas. Does anyone know how the oil pump actually works?

This may be way off, pump lose it's prime?

pour oil down the outer filter port till it spills out. Clean the mess up and check again. Oil should spill out in only 3-4 cranks.

Plugged oil line maybe, but if all were checked, and all work, then probably not.

Who did the work? Do they know how to say Porsche? Or are they the local foreign auto repair facility.

Make sure that the front pully is properly torqued-154 ft lbls if memory serve correct. That the drive for the pump. It is possible to have the drive sprocket not installed correctly which could have happened when they did the front seal. Make sure you find someone that knows the 944 to work on your car.

154 ft lbs sure seems like a lot. But I am out of ideas. They say they know 944's
