i was cruisin down I-95 towards Miami. I had just passed the Sawgrass Expressway exit when i spot what appaered to be riced out kia sephia. my S14 is bone stock, the only thing i have on it is a set of used tires(cheapo radials). I speed up beside him rev my engine. he looks at me, shakes his head and laughs. I punch it while i'm already in 4th. I think i've taken out another ricer when his car comes flying by me. I was doing around 90 when he pulled the flyby. i tried catching up but he was gone. I felt ashamed when it hit me that i got SMOKED BY A KIA. I guess i gotta stop picking on smaller cars and mod mine. I got home later in te night and told couple of my buddies and they were aughing out of control. now whenever i offer to give them a ride somewhere they ecline and say their afraid Daewoo might beat me next

actualy, those kia's are fast stock, not impressively fast or anything, but still pretty fast.Think they are powered by the Sonata's six cylinder 181 horse, "that is a " NOT SURE THOUGH" " But still beaten in a stock 240XS by a Kia, gotta feel bad for you.

Yea, I don't go out looking for cars to race which I don't even stand a chance stock...and like I've said, I never have been beaten by a sleeper, yet. Anyways it's all good, you can always make yourself feel better and just destroy a civiv/neon, just make sure you don't hear vrrrooom, psshhhh :lol:

I got an even worse one....a couple of years ago I was coming home from a friends house around 1am in my 90 Honda Accord, now granted it only had like 140hp, but whatever. A minivan with a weird looking bodykit and neon underbody kit pulls up next to me. At first glance I started laughing. Well apparently he had the last laugh, as he absolutely destroyed me when we went on green. I got the same sh!t from my friends.

Damn man that's harsh.. I once had a kid try to race me in my Contour SVT when I had it. Little rice boy with his dual APC fart can's and huge wing and HKS sticker's. He yelled out the window while im sittin at the light minding my own buisness. "Yo dude I bet I can smoke your POS 4 door" I replyed "We might just have to see about that". So he started revvin and I just sat there saying to my girlfriend. What the fuck is this fool thinking?. Light turns green and we are off. So much for him thinking my cars a pos when im still spining the tires in the middle of second gear. He then stoped me at the Mall, And precided to tell me "he missed a gear, And if he would have caught it he would have smoked me so bad". on the way out of the mall i took a look in his car.. And what did I see??

Its like the hyunda with the galant vr4 engine and tranny. And that minivan... there are turbo doge minvans and mazda ones to i think.

He underestimated it i put it down in D1 took the revs to like 3000 and took my foot off the brake boom i go and shift to D2 than D4 no need for 3. And he tried to pull on me but couldnt cause at that point i already had him and we were comming up on traffic. Never gonna race him again with that car so i bitched his ass for being dumb and cocky.

Ok so what year is your accord and the gs-t? was the gs-t manual or auto? And what does your accord and your friends gs-t have done to them? If it was a manual GS-T with a decent driver and both cars were stock, I call :bs: for that story

97 accord i think.. its the year right before the new body styles came out. The eclipse is a 90 and was a gs but the orginal ownerd moded the car heavily and its got a 16g turbo(i think not totally sure) peformance clutch, boost controller, turbo timer, its got the side mount intercooler its a manual. Only thing he needs is to upgrade his fuel pump and he can run high boost, right now he uses low most of the time but switches to high when hes racing on Deer Park Avenue. We live on Long Island, and we raced on Hempstead TNPk in East Meadow, from the light at Carmen Avenue to the light infront of the Nassa University Medical Center.. i think the street there is called freeman. Ill get a map from mapquest if you want. But it really wasent bs the kid wasent expecting me to able to take off like i did. I acutally did two days of practice starts in the car to get good at it. Than we were out driving around last week and i pulled next to him reveed the engine and he laughed at me and reved his right back. Light turned green i took off he tried to(hes not good at starts.. always says damn bad tires.. or damn to many rpms.... or just damn bad start) i took him right away and was able to get id say 2 cars on him probably a little less, we raced to about 75ish
due to the up comming traffic. Should he have beaten me yes did he no its not bs its just something that should happen.... Like a Kia doing a flyby to a 240.


Its not my accord dude.. its my GRANDPA'S hes got diabetes and parkinsons so the car doesnt have anything! done to it and only has 40K miles on it. My car WAS a 93 accord but i wrapped it around a tree after falling asleep. But im gonan buy a new car soon i have 5grand to spend so i might end up getting an Eclipse/Talon cause there pretty fast and can be modded pretty cost effectively.

So your friend has a 1990 GS? I wouldn't be surprised if you beat him because the GS for that year cam with like 90 HP and barely 100ft-lbs of toruqe where as your Accord, depending on whther it's EX or LX, you have 145Hp and 145ft-bls torque or 130Hp and 140ft-lbs of torque.

He said his friend has a GS not GS-T. And If it is a GS with those mods, I think it would be possible for the guy to beat him, specially since he's not sure on what the friend has.

Alright i just got home and i was able to ask my friend questions about his car. He says the engine is a GST engine but the vin # on the car is for a 90 GS he found that out when he insured the car. So hes paying like nothing in insurance and has the gst engine. He said he wants to race again and i said no of course caus i KNOW I shouldnt have one. He wasent expecting me to actualy take off as quickly as i did, another thing my friend isnt the best driver so that gave me a better oportunity to get infront of him. Im not gonna sit here and argue with you guys anymore though. My story on the 2nd page is what happened call it bs call it whatever but the bottom line is i beat him.

You guys can start listing all the reasons you want as to why i should have lost. HP, Torque, Wieght whatever your mind can come up with I BEAT HIM cal it a drivers race say he missed a shift whatever i beat him.



As for the orginal topic here, i guess its time to start to modify your 240 ehh? This kid i knwo from high school finishing up an SR20 swap in his 91. He spent 20k on the car/engine cause he got the money from a law suit he projects 500whp. I have a list patial list of some of the parts that he has on the car... just in case any of you guys want to raise another bs flag.
