Hey all; I have a 1996 Dakota two-wheel drive, and I don't really like the way it sits. It's a little too low, but it's all stock. It has 107,000 mi on it, so I think the factory shocks n struts are gone. I used to own a 1989 Dakota 4x4 and I loved the way it sat. It had the Prospector 3 package, and while I still dunno what that is, I think it had some sort of special suspension only for 4x4 trucks. I want to try and get the coils from a junkyard, and then I'll buy new OEM replacement shocks and struts for my truck. Is it possible to switch out the coils and struts/shocks on my 2 wheel drive truck for parts from a 4x4 Dakota? Will I have to mod anything, snd SHOULD it give me that perfect stock height I want?

The 4x4 does not hane springs on the front, it uses torsion bars. None of the 4wd parts will fit on your 2wd. You can check with Fabtech, they make lift kits for many 2-wheel drive trucks.
