Hi to everybody out there. I just joined. I currently am the proud owner of a 1984 Caprice Classic sedan. It's rust free with a 122k on it. I have a set of five spoke 16" sanoma/s-10/camaro wheels. Looks pretty sharp. I have a couple questions I hope you guys can answer.

1. I'm a college student so not much cash for buildin up the 305. If you know any mods I can do. I'd appreciate any tips.

2. Dual exhaust? I want to put duals on, but the trans. support is in the way. Is there away to do duals without using a y-pipe?

Thanks

hit a bone yard - find a v8 powered GM A body from 1973-1975, the tranny crossmember will have 2 humps. With small work, it will fit if you know a welder.

Of course the problem is finding a 73-75 car...but hey, didnt say it would be easy

i've got a 305 in my malibu. when i got the exhaust done i noticed a big improvement in power and it sounds awesome. the muffler shop that does your exhaust should be able to notch the x-member for you. if they can't, then i would try to find a used one. i'm only 18 so i know what it feels like to be on a budget. it should have an overdrive tranny. if so, have you considered a set of 3.55's or 3.73's. in a heavy car like a b-body, that will make a big difference. good luck.

thanks. I wasn't sure whether they could notch out the x-member or not. I've never thought about new gears. thats a good idea. I'll start lookin.

not sure if you have a place to do it or not, but headers would be a good step, or a better intake manifold and headers, intake can be had for around 125-200 bucks and headers can be had from 80-350(new prices)

Never heard of a "4o series one champer". What is it and where could I start to look for one?

hi guys new here wanted to say hello plus im in the same situation 92 caprice classic with the 305 but i had no problem i have true duals from the manifolds back and there are 2 perfect little pocets for both my mufflers with the turn down tips so no 1 can see them plus i was thinking besides doing duals anything else i can do for under 400 dollars to boost performance
