Help! Should I Buy 1987 4-RunnerJFP95621 05-04-2004, 04:09 PM Hello Everyone, I'm thinking about buying a 1987 4 runner. It looks like its in pretty good shape. 4 cylinder, 5 sp, 4wd. Nicer toyota rims. There is a small dent in the back. Power windows all work but passenger needs new motor. I drove it a short distance, felt good. No alignment problems. AC even works. There is a "sensor" thats disconnected because it "needs" to be replaced. Anyways, the dude will sell for $700. I think it a good deal but what the heck do I know? The engine has 180k miles. Think I could get another 50k? Any and all feedback is appreciated! What should I look for as far as engine wear/condition? Thanks a lot! I hear there is a fuel additive to "help"? Brian R. 05-04-2004, 06:22 PM Where I live, nothing will get you by the smog testing except a good catalytic converter, good sensors, and a tune up. 91 funrunner 05-04-2004, 10:33 PM cali?
