Hey guys Im thinking of getting a 99-00 Civic Coupe (The same one from NFS: Underground). Just wondering which engine and type was it that gives out around 160HP and runs Qtr Mile in approx 16 seconds? And what would type of engine (SOHC or DOHC) you guys advise me to get.

My friend said its the Type R one.. is this true because I swear I saw the specs ages ago and it wasnt Type R... I hope its not because I cant afford it if it is Type R :(

lol, no. You can get a 99-00 civic SI that has a DOHC B16 and puts out I think 160hp and most likely will do the 1/4 in 16 seconds or less.

type-r's are hatchbacks....

yup Type R is hatch back and never came to US good 99-00 SI couple aka EJ6 over here had the OBD2 b16a motor DOHC vtec making 160hp they ran 15s and had pleanty of potentail in them good car all in all but i like HBs better you can get HB and drop a b16 A or B in with ease.
