Hey, I have been "street racing" for at least two years, and I just recently went to the Import Wars and I want to start racing at the tracks. I own a 96 Intrepid, its not very fast, and not stock, but I enjoy showing the Hondas some compatition. Now I need a real car. Eny suggestion??? And yes, I wont be keeping it stock.

i would suggest goin with the camaro ss. maybe a 4th or 5th gen. they can be modded very easily and cheaply. they arent bad to drive on the road if you will be using it around town. if you want to go with an import, i dont suggest it, i would say the wrx. its awd and has a stock turbo. that will make it cheaper to mod.

First things first....Are you looking at an affordable car to start with or are you willing to shell out good amounts of money for a the cars listed above?
Unless you have 30k plus to spend on just buying the car i wouldn't buy any of the cars listed above. don't get me wrong, they are amazing cars an have great power (cept the gt) but they are not something i would buy for what they are sold for.

No, if you are going the cheaper route, then you would get ur self a decent import, but first u must decide what make you want ie;nissan,honda,masda,mistubishi......

All these imports can be made to go really fast an in the end you won't be spending as much money on just the car itself with the domestics.

A mustang gt has a good amount of power.A 99+ gt has 260 hp stock and with a stick and a good driver it would be in the high 13's low 14's.

you should get a 66 or 67 mustang and put in a 350 edle brock engine witch right when you get it, it will run 475 hp right out of the shoot

theese are not slow if your have a light weight body also i recomened a 4 speed trans to go with that
that is what my little bro is starting out with and his car can move

If you do consider a newer V8, like ones listed. My dad would like to sell his '96 Trans Am. Not sure on the price, but I know it isn't much. It's silver, w/auto. I know autos aren't as fast, but they are more consistent when bracket racing. It has around 70k miles on it, has K&N FIPK, Hypertech programmer, and Richmond 3.73 rear gears. Has the stock set of chrome 16" rims, wish Firestones on front and drag radials on rear. Also set of silver 16" wheels off a '00 Trans am with new Goodyear Eagle, GSC. There are a couple of pics at www.agbulletracing.com Located in Indianapolis, IN
