High Revs @ StopSeanscho 05-02-2004, 03:33 AM When I drive for long distances on the highway (average revs. at about 2700) the engine seems to keep the rpms up when i come to a stop. This lasts for a while usually (maybe 5 minutes or so) I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what might cause this. Thanx Three_Fingers 05-02-2004, 08:39 AM Um, need some more info. What engine? Is your "Check Engine" light on? perna00 05-02-2004, 09:00 AM i had the same problem for a minute on my cavalier. whenever i would drive for a while on the highway i would set the cruise on and somehow the cruise would stick and it wouldn't allow the plate on the throttle body to close all the way cause tension would remain on the cruise control cable until the spring would slowly force it back down. might not be the same problem for you, but a can of wd-40 was an easy fix for me. Seanscho 05-02-2004, 10:45 PM Um, need some more info. What engine? Is your "Check Engine" light on? Its a 2.2 ecotec.. the check engine light isn't on.. If there's anything else u might need to know, i might be able to answer any questions... It is very consistant though, every time I exit the highway after driving for more than a half hour or so, the revs stay up for about 5 minutes (when in neutral/ or when cluch is pressed) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
