Ferrari F40 Pics...Let me know when you`ve had too much

Here are some pics of my Fujimi Ferrari F40 that I built about 2 years ago. In my opinion, Fujimi`s version is much more accurate than the Tamiya version, which I have also built. I used testors gloss red for the finish. I didn`t prime the body first because I was worried I wouldnt be able to get full coverage under the rear spoiler. I sprayed four coats, waited for it to dry (about 2 weeks) and then sanded with 2000 sandpaper and finished it off polishing it out with nicsand 10,000 grit sanding gel. The interior and engine were well detailed, but you would never know since the model has no opening doors or hatches. Let me know what you think or if I am posting too many pictures.

Why? What's different?

Probably the most noticable difference is the wheels and tires. Fujimi`s kits tires had a lower profile than the Tamiya`s. They are more convincing to me anyway than the Tamiyas.

Where is the front badge though?

Good question! :) I can barely remember building this model, but I am assuming I got impatient and cut corners and moved on to another project. Either that or I lost it to a decal casualty. It`s a shame, because otherwise it came out fairly decent. I would like to find another one and build a yellow version as well.

How about showing us the engine?

Unfortunately, the rear hatch doesnt open up, so the only way to see the engine, and only part of it at that, is through the glass in the back. Maybe I will try and see if I can pull it apart safely and take pics of the engine.
Thanks again for all the compliments everyone! :) :) :) :) :flash: :flash: :flash: :flash:

Sweet, you can NEVER get enough of the F40... it's the ultimate Ferrari.

P.s. the F40 sports a "black belt' (black trim) all around the car which i don't see on the model... may make it look even better!

Awesome!

I'm gonna pic up that kit now. I was thinking about it but had second thoughts and did not after seingthe price.

It was only 6 bucks. USD

So I thought it was a junky kit. Man was I wrong, doesn't look bad to me.

Can you take a pic of the box just to make sure it is the same kit.
I think the one I saw was also a fujimi.

If you can't take the pic, can you just describe what the top of the box looks like.

Im flattered.:D

can u post some chasis pics?
I would but there isn`t much to see. I just painted it flat black and picked out some bolts. This isn`t the most detailed kit.
is it just me, or is something is missing on the hood?
One question... Where is the sides mirrors????
I`m not exactly the most patient builder. Yes the hood emblem and mirrors are missing. Alot of the kits I built around that time ended up missing little things like mirrors, decals, wheels..... :D
If you can't take the pic, can you just describe what the top of the box looks like.
Sure. Its a black box around the edges with a big picture of a yellow F40 on the front if I remember correctly. It was molded in yellow plastic.
