quick question about clear coat...

well when i was building my camaro the first set of decals i put on, and tehy came out great. When i went to put a lear coat on it, they disintigrated(Spelling)! So im wondering what clear coat you guys are using, thnx

I use auto touch up paints like Duplicolor and I use their clear also. If I use a paint I am not sure of I use a emanel clear.

i used the duplicolor clear coat, and like i said it ate the decals. :(

It's quite common problem. Most of the clear coats eat decals. Or even worse; DupliColor ruined a perfect paintjob. I'm the third person that got ruined paintjob from the clear coat. :(

you need an Acrylic Based Clear for that, like Tamiya. (and maybe Krylon ??)

had that happen ricky it is the clear coat duplicolor makes it is really stron i unno

I've found a way to be able to use Duplicolor clear on decal's. Put the decal's on with Microsol.. They won't melt when you put clear over them.. They didn't for me anyway's.

Thats what I have heard. I also heard you need to use acrylic paints for painting over decals.
