I recently posted a thread asking about the specs (top speed, 1/4 mile, etc.) of Hayabusas. But are Hayabusas good handlers? I noticed that they are considered Sport Touring bikes. Does the extra length and weight affect how it turns, etc.? I am interested in them because for the power and looks it's not a bad price, to be honest. Any info on these bikes would help me out a bunch.

I am sure the extra length in wheelbase will provide stability taking sweepers. Like cars, tires will influence the handling of a bike.

The busa is just as capable of 140mph+ sweepers as any other bike... what matters is the rider. No, it does not "turn in" as readily, and MANY riders with 190 sized tired prefer to "undersize" and get 180s instead because they feel that the turning capabilities are better. Not sure if it's true or not, but I do know many people who say it.

So it's turf is on the straights and not around the tracks.

yes, the bus is much more steady through sweepers than most other bikes, and straightline speed it gets less buffering. However the bike is sluggish and heavy compared to SPORTBIKES. It is not a hard bike to turn, it turns easier than cruiser, especially if you drop down to a 180 rear tire.

But if you are getting into riding because of the power or speed, than you are starting for the wrong reason. Any sportbike that is 750cc+ is not meant to be started on. Most 1000cc bikes of today almost require you have to stepped up form a 600cc or 750cc to be able to control the power correctly.

A Busa does not handle as well as a liter class sportbike. Having riden both a GSXr1000 and a Busa i can say for sure that the busa does not handle nearly as well as the GSXR.

Busa is good for a nice long ride, fairly comfy, fast, but you wont be keeping up with the 600's and 1000's in the twisties.

Not keeping up with 600 and 1000 in the twisties is not a problem the Busa is there in and out before you can get a 600 to the curve LOL I ride a 2004 busa and a few others also, and it does handle well if you know what you are doing. If you run twisties over 75% of the time then a ZX10 (2005 1 liter in 600 frame is the way to go in my book if it is 50/50 the busa sure holds the road better (side wind, 18 wheelers speeds over posted limit, (ops delete that)
the busa is cheap and fun (not for new riders)
