quarter mile time for a chevelle with 450hp?ricergribbs 04-30-2004, 06:44 PM i was wondering, does anyone know what kind of a quarter mile a '69 chevelle should run. its got a 454 with about 450hp, a t-10 4 speed tranny, and a posi rear end. artistic 04-30-2004, 08:07 PM Is there a drag strip near you? If there is you should take your car for a few runs. Then you will know what YOUR car makes in the quarter mile, because im sure each chevelle, even with the same engine will run a little differently. 68chevelle 04-30-2004, 09:04 PM umm, you forgot a couple important things. rear gears, tires: street/slicks, and how well you can drive/shift? but if your lucky and have the right setup i would say maybe 12's if your lucky. 96Civ 04-30-2004, 09:10 PM Don't forget about weight. :) ricergribbs 05-01-2004, 12:53 AM heh, sry. this is my friends car, not sure about rear gears but i know itll have an auburn rear end by the time he gets around to running it. and itll be on street tires, and he is a pretty good driver. oh and he is planning on taking it to the track over summer, but he just wanted to know what he should expect to see. at least a guesstimate. SEmy2K2go 07-15-2004, 05:06 AM This may sound silly, but your friend knows that his car has 450hp, but doesn't have any idea what it would run in the 1/4? Maybe I'm missing something? artistic 07-20-2004, 10:09 PM Ls-6 454's are rated at 450hp. So it's very possible he could know the horse power but not the quater mile time. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
