Hitting rev limiter at 3500 on '93 LS - Helpbobbity 04-29-2004, 08:32 PM I drive a '93 Integra LS, and I've suddenly had an odd onslaught of problems. For one, I am hitting the rev limiter at 3500 RPM, rather than the normal 6,800. That makes the car nearly undriveable. Also, the engine is idling around 400-500 RPM, with occasional drops below 300. Usually it idled around 900. Does anyone have any idea what's going on? and any reason why the problem just manifest itself? Thanks RSX-S777 04-29-2004, 09:40 PM Sensor issues maybe? whtteg 04-30-2004, 03:04 PM Your ecu is in "limp mode" it goes into this mod when something drastic is reported by a sensor, something that is a vlaue past what is programed into the ecu. it does this because it can't supply the accurate amount of fuel to the motor for the value that was reported, so it just dumps a ton of fuel in and drops the rev limit to 3500. Most common problems are the MAP sensor or O2 sensor. 4drLS 05-07-2004, 09:45 AM Ecu spyorg 05-14-2004, 01:42 PM Sorry for bringing this old thread up, I am not sure if I should start a new thread or what, but on a similar topic, can anyone say at what rpm should the rev limiter kick in on my 95 LS Automatic? Also what should be the normal automatic shifting points rpm-wise for this car? INTEGRA_KID1987 05-14-2004, 10:22 PM do what i did, take out all limiters. when i bought my 91 ls integra mine didnt have a rev limiter. My dad fucked with my limiter and took it off so i can most likely hit the 145 my gauge says :) loesch8102 05-15-2004, 11:21 PM :screwy: The limiter should be at 7000. Don't know about shift points though. Automatics make me go :banghead: spyorg 05-16-2004, 01:33 AM Thanks anyway. I was reading the manual and found where it said that you can downshift by flooring the gas pedal. I guess I can do that and look at the tach to get some idea of the shift rpm. Just a rev limiter to make sure you can't go over 7100. And there's your answer, B18B1, rev limiter at 7100.
