Need help with a thermostat in a 92 MPV

Trying to change the thermostat in a 92 MPV 2WD V-6. Went where thermostats normally are, inside the housing that the upper hose attaches to, and SURPRISE! No thermostat! Just two square ports. Anyone with info and possibly a diagram would be greatly appreciated. I can be reached direct at redofthejedi@aol.com or on AIM at redofthejedi.

it is most likely where the lower hose goes into the motor , get a haynes manuel for you model , it will show you where it is
