Brian R. 04-27-2004, 10:27 AM Just a joke about how you must have gone downhill alot to get such mileage. :) mrtwo 04-27-2004, 11:05 AM i c yotatechie04 04-27-2004, 08:11 PM I think the highest I've gotten out of our '99 is about 30 mpg. And then again, I think the lowest I've gotten out of it was about 9. But the 30 mpg was once upon a great time too... mrtwo 08-09-2004, 08:51 AM This time I took a trip around 800 miles, mostly highways. And I got 29.6 mpg. Also, I feel camry is not very comfortable for long trip, making me very tired, particularly the suspension. Anyone agree? What is a good car for long trip (not luxury)? Buick? typesix 08-09-2004, 03:45 PM Your 35 mpg is average. My 89 4cyl Camry auto gets 40 mpg highway, 36 mpg with AC(recirc. mode) on at 60-65 mph. calvic 08-09-2004, 04:32 PM This time I took a trip around 800 miles, mostly highways. And I got 29.6 mpg. I drive my 88 Camry 70 miles each way to work and I am stoved up when I get out of it. So yeah I agree they aint confortable, but then again I'm old. :lol2: JJ Bmaintz 08-09-2004, 08:17 PM The 87 to 91 Camrys are the OLD body style & are a smaller car.... The 92 to 96 Camey are the larger Camrys & DO have a fine ride... I drive to Kansas (850 miles) & I am not sore the next day.... The Camry is one fine riding machine for your money... If you want the best then get an Avalon... Bob mrtwo 08-09-2004, 09:07 PM Maybe they have better highway in Kansas. How many days did u finished the 850 miles in? Bmaintz 08-09-2004, 09:13 PM One day as usual...great ride.... was a bit sleepy though... mrtwo 08-10-2004, 09:21 AM One day? I bet u go 100 mph, right? I did get 36 mpg milage with my 94 Camry but had the cruise on 60 mph... mrtwo 08-10-2004, 12:14 PM What is the tee-tee stops? Bmaintz 08-10-2004, 05:43 PM I should have said Wee-Wee stops for the girls, of course I can hold my water in my old age...!! calvic 08-11-2004, 12:52 PM Your 35 mpg is average. My 89 4cyl Camry auto gets 40 mpg highway, 36 mpg with AC(recirc. mode) on at 60-65 mph. You better keep that car. I've had my 88 w/ same engine since new and the very best it ever did was 33 mpg. JJ 20camry01 08-16-2004, 08:40 PM I take my 2001 camry from san diego to phoenix twice a month and and it now has 94,000 miles on. It is a very smooth riding car. I'm taking it to Georgia on sept. 1st and am actually looking forward to making the drive. Here in PA, I will be happy if I average 75 mph. Where in PA are you at? rion 08-19-2004, 03:02 AM I just got my 1987 Camry (given to me...) and it's automatic... I know automatics usually have worse mileage compared to manual, but would it help to add those expensive octane booster thingies? (Before the Camry was given to me it just sat in one place for 6 months or so...) BTW, I get about 22.5 mpg city... I'm not sure about highway mileage. mrtwo 08-19-2004, 08:48 AM I have a 96 Corolla that gets 25 something city. So 22.5 mpg for Camry sounds about right. nerowolfe 08-20-2004, 12:06 PM i think on mine i get 23mpg to 25mpg animal401 08-20-2004, 08:57 PM 93' Camry V6 LE, great ride, very comfortable. The seat can be adjusted to so many positions (power seat). Regular travel of 200- 500 km always happy. visonofdisorder 09-23-2004, 10:24 AM i get really good milage in mine, 92 5spd with cold air, i can go about 8 or 9 days on 10 bucks and i drive city every day mrtwo 06-26-2005, 04:05 PM after owing the car for a little more than a year now, it gets 29 something on highway most of the time. cycosurfer 07-11-2005, 07:56 PM My car happily got 36 mpg highway driving in North Carolina(60-65 mph). City driving averages to be 24-28 mpg. Unfortunately I drive like a leadfoot with interstate driving. If I do that, it only gets 21-24. That's with speeds like 80-100 mph. 1991 Toyota Camry 2.0L I4 EFI 185,600 miles quincyguy 07-13-2005, 11:44 AM I drive my 88 Camry 70 miles each way to work and I am stoved up when I get out of it. So yeah I agree they aint confortable, but then again I'm old. :lol2: JJ You might need a physician . I drove my '90 60 miles/day round trip, had nasty sciatica and blamed the seat. After a go with Capt Crunch at the 'Y' on the Nautilus and stretching, I'm fine. Your body is trying to tell you something!!! Shalom vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
