my suv keeps on overheating so i think it might be the thermostat. Anyone know where it is and how to take it out so it can be replaced?

Didn't say what you have. On my 97 OHV you follow the top radiator hose to the metal coupler on the block. This is held on by 3 bolts. Inside is the thermostat that has a rubber ring around it, this is the gasket. Note which way it faces and put the new one in the same way. Thermostat will also have printed on one side TO RADIATOR. Rubber casket can be cleaned ans switched to the new one. You should by a thermostat with a burp hole and that should be mounted up. I'm cheap and buy the lower cost one and drill a little hole in it, something under 1/8. Suggest you buy a Haynes manual for this and other work.
