2002 Yukon, want to upgrade to HIDs

Hey,

I have a 2002 Yukon and it has DRLs. I think that the low beams are HB4s which are 9006 bulbs... correct me if I am wrong please. I've installed HIDs in many other cars but what has me a little stumped right now is:

1. How do I get to the headlights to install these i.e. change the bulbs? Can the headlight assemblies be removed easily, if they need to be removed.

2. How do the DRLs work with the HIDs? With DRLs they provide the regular bulbs with a lower voltage. What is that voltage?

I rather make the HIDs work with the DRLs if possible, if not I will have to bypass it. The DRLs can be disabled correct?

Thanks!

Hi, you have 2 pins that look like allen wrenches to pull out from the top of the headlight.
Then the headlights can fall out to the front.
The non-Denali low beam is a 9006.
It is a good idea to get the Denali projector headlights, and then get a 9005 - not 9006 - HID bulb kit.
The DRL's have no impact on this. You can leave them alone.
They are just another set of regular round taillight bulbs.
This is not like some hi beams getting a lower voltage to pretend to be DRL's.
Please read this thread, it has a link to where I got my Denali Projector headlights:
