FERRARI!!!!! yes, they cost a lot, but it IS good money well spent. you get technology, the style, and best of all, you get a ferrari. i will probably speak more of my opinion when there is other posts to talk about.

shouldnt this be divided into categories? i mean, comparing ferrari or lamborghini to just about anything usually ends up in ferrari or lamborghini winning (like comparing the comfort levels of a maybach or rolls royce to just about anything else)

This really needs to be divided into catagories. There is no way to pick a "best" here.

You forgot about Peugeot, innovators for the hot-hatch

and Citroen who invented everything short of the car

and Renault, who own Nissan and were heavily into F1 at one time

and Pagani, who ACTUALLY make the best car.

i think one of the best european company not listed here is tvr. i love the design of the tuscan.

I say Lamborghini just because I'm a Diablo whore, Mercedes Benz for total package because I'm a E55 AMG whore. but by best do you mean just performance or the whole shebang? Either way you left out a lot of companies, such as Ruf, Ford (The Cossies man, what about the Cossies?), and the others mentioned above.

BMW all the way! Even though Bangle is retarded, its still the greatest company ever. The E46 and the E39 will go down as some of the sexiest cars ever. The all destroying McLaren's V12 is BMW. I believe in a thing called M Power, and they beat everything naturally aspirated which makes them even more impressive.

Porsche for #2 because as much as I like BMW's styling, the 911 will always be better, and there pretty fast :)

Aston Martin, too darn expensive but the money is definitely worth it.

Jaguar.. I'm a bit partial to them. '60s especially.

Seriously, these guys have the audacity to build the world's only acceptable retro car: the Morgan Plus 8. They've been building it since 1935, with only gradual refinements along the way. The body still has an ash frame, the engines are still the venerable Rover 3.5L V8. It's still sliding pillar front suspension, drum brakes all around, and the top still takes two jugglers an hour to put up. It's a sacred auto in these days of soulless functionality.

Take yer Miatas and S2000's and Boxsters and Z4's and SLK320's and stuff 'em. This is the last real roadster.
